5 years later and this still works. I had to do this a couple years ago on Oracle and the process was pretty much the same.

This helped me a bunch. The part I was missing was modifying the DB instance with the new option group for restore/backup.

Hi Saima, You can do this through SQL Server Management Studio once you connect to the database. Hi Suraj, You do have to wait for the RDS database to completely come up. Try again after waiting for 15-30 minutes. Jon
