Fascinating. I remember calling home to Ireland from a payphone at Prague hlavni nadrazi in 1990. After dialling I heard the rapid "call progress tone" which features at the start of your video. I was familiar with it from Ireland where we had lots of Alcatel E10 switches. I assume Czechoslovakia must have had some too!

E10 were the worst digital switches ever.. even crossbars were faster..
