I do not understand the concept behind reading out my phone number to someone as Oh Two Oh... Telephone Identifiers or Numbers are configured by a Telecommunications Company on the switch and known as MSIDN Numbers. They are not alphanumeric. Marketing concepts or ideologies might not be the correct manner for pronunciation, so let us be careful please. Same thing with pronouncing Peugeot 206. The company has indicated it is digit 0. If James Bond says he is Double O7, then that is his identity, and can be pronounced and written as desired. How do i explain to a chid that my phone number which is strictly numbers, is pronounced alphanumerically?

What do people say on sports? Example: 1x0.. I hear something like "one neo"... What exactly is this "neo"?

They say "nil" It means zero. It is only really used for sports. Example: Chelsea beat Everton five - nil last Saturday. For tennis and other racket sports, we say "love" for a score of zero in a game. Example: "The score is forty - love." I hope that helps. Andrew
