You can get small samples of beam-splitting glass for pretty cheap. Helps the text show up better.

This is great! I was just thinking it might be good to have a teleprompter, and something that packs away into a little box is pretty sweet.

My man! I literally just now finished this project in about a half hour after having had all the parts for most of the last year. The only HARD part was finding a good piece of picture frame glass at a thrift shop. We finally found a 5x5 frame with dirty glass, but when it cleaned up, it was PERFECT! This is so nice, easy to build and easy to use! MANY THANKS YET AGAIN, my friend!

I bought a Parrot Teleprompter back in the day. I think they're now part of the Padcaster portfolio. It's definitely cool if you'd just come up with your own though! :D

DUDE! YESSSS!!! I've been looking for a cheap solution!!! Now to find a hole saw 🤔 The best part about this prompter is you do not need an additional stand. Everything is there. Thank you so much

I was also thinking about a DIY solution to my telepromptering needs. I'll maybe try yours out if I manage to find the pieces in various stores (don't really want to order them). My idea was a little bit different. It involved a simple hinge that you epoxy to the glass and then to a thin wood/plastic/or other solid rectangular board that would have a hole and a lens adapter ring glued to that hole. Then we glue/apply some black opaque fabric that would be just long enough to let the glass "fall" just 45 degrees (and of course, extra material going over the sides like drapes). The annoying part would be screwing the whole thing to the filter thread, but not impossible, since the hinge can make it lay flat and easier to manipulate. Then the only link left to figure out is the 3rd solid piece that would hold the phone at 90 degrees. Maybe the same idea again. Let it "fall" but have restraints like fabric or string attached to the corners to stop it. So, in essence, it would kind of look like a book or a wallet that is only permitted to open to a certain point (let gravity help you), and the middle part of this 3 part "wallet" would be glass. Donno, maybe sounds stupid, but you asked.

Potential upgrade thought: Much like a matte box make the lens hole larger than ones largest diameter lens (88mm maybe) and put some form of elasticized donut hood over the lens and the back of the box. This would make it compatible with almost any lens diameter, and still prevent light leaks.

I work in professional TV and read prompter everyday. Eye movement gets worst when you are closer to the camera. If you need a tight shot, a longer lens makes this effect all but go away.

I hear ya, but longer lenses in small home studios can be challenging.

Love your tips, subscribed so fast. Do you have tips on the bindings of this controller? I got one to use the elegant prompter pro app but I can't get it to smooth glide the screen. I have an android and I try the device in android/ios and all 4 modes in each but best I can do is use the music mode to map up and down to the up and down control but that just abruptly adjusts in big steps not a smooth glide. I assume I'm using the bindings wrong.

I go with a play/pause setup, which lets me stop and start the text as I go. You can also adjust the speed of the scrolling, but I still find myself pausing as needed.

@MagicBiscuitShow
@MagicBiscuitShow 3 жыл бұрын
Never mind ... I finally figured it out. However, comma, others new to Bluetooth controllers (this one in particular) would appreciate how to set it up with Elegant Prompter. Since I've never played video games (yeah, I'm a 72-year-old dinosaur), Some things weren't obvious to me. Cheers, Chuck ... : +)
