Awesome concept for a city like New York where the hydrants are few and far between or blocked by a vehicle access ports in the middle of the street would allow the engine just to pull up over top the hydrant. They would definitely need a larger feed line here in the United States seeing that most of our attack lines are 2 1/4 or 3-inch lines. This systems good in Europe because they use one-and-a-half attack lines with an air pressurized system.

karl krikelis Our attacks are 1 3/4 and 2.5". Supply lines are 3" and 5". I think that's what you're referring to.

There are usually signs on the walls of nearby buildings that indicate where exactly you can find such a hydrant.
