How does Derek keep his keystrikes so clear and pristine without accidentally hitting another key beside his chord keys? I love his brilliant musicianship and virtuosic playing!

Another thing Derek will often do in chords is weight the notes differently to change the character of the voicing. It actually makes his improvising difficult to transcribe.

@derekparavicini that is the ultimate trick to the "feeling" of a piece, for sure! The attack and timing in each note is used as an expression. It's beautiful how people can use it and change the whole atmosphere of a song. He's definitely one of a kind, only just found him after seeing a short on him a year ago! Love his playing!

He does, like everyone, but he doesn't care, like a professional! Sooo, he's really fucking awesome

Derek is the greatest, most authentic pianist, past, present and future, no-one can do what he does, this absolute oneness with music, musicmadefleshness cannot be learned, nor acquired, it's inborn, THIS was given by GOD to HIM and to no-one else. That's the way the cookie crumbles. Thanks to the Lord, to Derek and to his coach and to KZbin

Has Derek ever played Michael Nyman - The heart asks pleasure first, from the movie The Piano? If not could i request it for him to play in a future video. That would be an absolute thrill

Does he still take requests? If so, I'd like him to improvise on Haydn's cello concerto in D.

Derek loves requests. We will put it on the list! If you haven't already, join one of his live streams (1st Sunday of every month at 16:45 BST). He takes a lot of requests live during those.

Part of me wants to know if he could play the Tom Morello Guitar Hero Battle on the piano, but another part of me says that would be mean to legitimately ask for.

I heard Errol Garner playing One note Samba. Could you show him and ask for his improvisation? Thank you for taking care of him.

You sound much better than the pro piano player that tried to diminish your talent....jokes on him
