Impressions from the opening of the Berlin television tower.
The construction of the landmark was completed in 1969.
The television tower is opened by the politicians Walter Ulbricht and Erich Honecker.
With its 368 m the tower rises up in the heart of the city, near Alexanderplatz. It was built to counteract the catastrophic broadcasting supply in East Berlin. Over time, however, the Television Tower has taken on an even more important role.
