1971-72 Television Season 50th Anniversary: My Three Sons (1965 Angela Cartwright guest stars)

We continue our look back at the 1971 to 1972 television season.
Today, we are paying tribute to the CBS (and ABC) classic television series My Three Sons, which wrapped up a long twelve year run fifty years ago last week, on April 13, 1972.
The black and white episodes are all from ABC from 1960-1965, and then with the switch to color filming and broadcasts, the series moved to CBS and then ran another seven seasons from fall 1965 to spring 1972.. A remarkable twelve season run on both networks. We bet ABC wished they had kept the series on their network back in 1965, but the switch to color programming was costing networks and producers additional costs, and deciding which shows to continue funding and supporting and which to let go during that 1965 to 1966 time must have been difficult for the networks.
This video clip is from the April 1965 fifth season episode 'The Glass Sneaker', which was a take-off on the Cinderella/Alice in Wonderland theme, and featured a young Angela Cartwright as guest star. This episode was filmed just after Ms. Cartwright completed filming The Sound of Music, and was broadcast around the same time The Sound of Music was released in major US theaters in 1965. It must have been a terrific and exciting time for Angela as her young career switched into a higher gear in both feature film and television.
And of course, Lost in Space was just around the corner for Ms. Cartwright; we assume she began filming the pilot, along with the other LIS cast members, sometime that spring of 1965 as the show geared up for a fall 1965 premiere.
