You can't go wrong with "Ladies Night," "Get Down On It" and "Celebration." All three songs are from the late 70's and early 80's and still are awesome in the year 2023! These songs are all recorded by Kool & the Gang.

"Joanna" was Kool & the Gang's 24th single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking @ #2 in early 1984. On the R&B chart, "Joanna" peaked @ #1 for 2 weeks and was their 35th charting single. On the R&B chart, it was Kool & the Gang's 7th #1 (grand total = 9) . In contrast, only one K&TG single hit #1 on the Hot 100: "Celebration" in 1980/81.

Joanna was a number one hit in the UK. I always preferred "(When You Say You Love Somebody) In the Heart" and "Steppin' Out" and their bittersweet song ""Too Hot" (which has a great Sax break on it) - but truthfully most of their hit singles still sound great so you can't really go too far wrong with Kool.

#2 song in the country in 1983. My favorite band could make any song, in any genre, at superior quality Probably ran into Michale Jackson's "Billie Jean" or "Beat It", at the top of the charts Or "Flashdance (What a Feeling)" which controlled music for the Spring of 1983 It takes a lot of talent to get this old school sound to the top, in the middle of the 1980's
