Recruiters are such a lazy bunch! You know one thing, as soon as they ask "Tell me about yourself.." in 90% of the cases, they simply didn't read your CV! The really good ones - who do their homework - would ask precise questions on that. The others do not really care and hope you give them some clues to start the conversation.. It is NOT a bad thing for you, though: you can take control of the narrative and explain why your past experience (your "origin story") all points clearly into the direction of this position you are applying for. Because here is the thing: Recruiters do not really want to hear about YOU, they really want to hear about THEM and their company and about great they are. You realize that after some practice 😅

I'm 36 and have some work and life experience. I infamously had an interview a few years ago, when the interviewer told me I was amazing and look at all that experience you have etc. I ended up getting offered a telephony post with a financial service provider and it was the worst job I have ever had..be wary of that young people.
