The compound sentences not having punctuation is because it's in 1st-person. It's how Paul thinks. He thinks, and sometimes speaks, in run-on sentences without punctuation. This is one of my go-to books when I want to laugh and feel good. I love Paul and Sandy and especially Vince! The sequel where they get married is hysterical! Check out "How to be a Normal Person". It's one of this best, feel-good books. That one and its sequel are two of my favorite from him.

I loved this book, definitely continue with the series - it also crosses over with the characters in the Bear, Otter and The Kid series. I first read this book on a long distance flight - I got some very strange looks from laughing out loud while people were trying to sleep! I learnt my lesson and now I don't read TJ's books while in public.

Thanks for the review, I love that book, you should listen to the audiobook (particularly when Johnny Dep insults Paul, you will be laughing so hard)!! Plus your dog is gorgeous!

I bought The House in the Cerulean Sea and finished it a couple days ago, read it fast, so I could start Bob Woodwards new book. I loved it. I had just assumed all of his books were through publishers so it's kind of all making sense now the issues I was having at the library looking for the other books. I'm going to read the Wolf Song books first and I'll definitely check this one out along the way !

I'm so happy you liked it. I've never read anything by Bob Woodward. Should I be remedying that as soon as I can? Yeah, his original publisher did some shady things and wasn't paying authors what they should have been paid. He got the rights back, and now they're under BOATK books (Bear Otter and the Kid). I need to pick up my next Klune book soon. Maybe that will get me back in the reading spirit.

I'm happy to hear they're tackled better a little later in the series!

Wait... How did I miss this review? I am subbed with that blasted bell notification ticked! (Nvm that...) I remembered in your previous video, you mentioned that this wasn't your favourite Klune's book but trust me it gets better when it comes to Sandy's story. To be honest, I got a little annoyed with Paul's character over the course in the series. Was this the book that uses "Freddie Prince Jr" references from the movie "She's All That" between Paul, Sandy and Vince? I might have forgotten. However, when you were mentioning the LOL at the corner, I literally remember myself doing so (in the public)! Nonetheless, it is still great review, Connor!

I talk to my dogs all the time. It’s normal for us pet parents.

Sounds like quite the book. That cover looks like a corny sitcom 😝.

The cover put me off for a while and I’m so sad about that. I’m glad I finally just picked it up, because it was amazing.
