Take Action: bit.ly/Plastic...
Dozens of advocates from across the United States are in the nation's capital this week demanding real, long-term solutions to the plastic pollution crisis.
99% of plastics are made of fossil fuels. As oil markets become increasingly volatile amid a rise in renewable energy, the fossil fuel and petrochemical companies are doubling down on plastic production as an economic lifeline.
For too long, polluters across the plastic supply chain have poisoned our drinking water, contaminated our waterways, and made us pay for their toxic mess with our tax dollars, our health, and-for many frontline and fenceline community members-our lives.
We are calling for our leaders to put a cap on the amount of plastic that can be produced, replace single-use-plastics with non-toxic reusables, and shift the burden of plastic pollution from taxpayers to producers/polluters.
Join us by reaching out to your Congressional representatives and demanding comprehensive legislation to stop plastic pollution!

How much gas does it take to make and recycle glass bottles? Let's start talking about solution ships.

I suggest to find out about the life cycle assessment of glass, plastic, and stainless. Being reusable has already ahead in its sustainability factor compare to single use.

@@pigstain7531 great point. It would just be nice to talk about solutions instead of just problems.

the negative environmental impact of glass is much less than that of plastic over its lifespan

The solution to the plastic problem is stopping the production of plastic. Single use plastic is the current solution due to cost, not to environmental well being. This is proposing the return to reusable containers such as glass and stainless steel via a re-prioritization of what matters to nature, ie, us.

@@heatnicoleher i think they share alot of solution thats been implemented in many places. Such as zerowaste shop/bulkshop, drinking water refill points, refill economy for FMCG (food, beverage, sanitary product, etc), food delivery using reusable-returnable system, organic composting, MRF (material recovery facility), strick EPR implementation for polluters, and many many more
