ikr ,ash is becoming more of a joke character than the other slasher who went down the same rabbit hole. I read his last crossover comic and are thinking ash accidentally doomed the multiverse with his sanity-gone stupidity and his forced character horniness for ass. if he was written more aware and realistic, we would ash as...damaged beyond any help.

Indeed! Within the Woods is a little clunky, but a lot of what's in that short film carried over into the main timeline, although they improved on a lot and had much better equipment for the theatrical movies. Seek it out if you're curious, it's an interesting watch!

When Ash vs Evil Dead was canceled, Bruce Campbell said he'd be retiring from playing the character. However, he said he would return to voice the character in animation for an animated revival of that show. In addition, after the success of Evil Dead Rise, he said he would indeed play the character again on screen if Sam Raimi were going to direct another film. Since Ash's voice is heard in that voice recording that Danny found, we could see Ash time traveling to the year 1923 and telling the priest to destroy the Book of the Dead.
