TelloMe App Tips for Better Video | Follow Me for the Tello

The first video I did on the TelloMe follow me app was in wintery conditions ( • Add Follow Me 🚶🏾‍♂️🚶🏾‍... ) and all things considered, the addition of follow me worked well for the Ryze Tello drone. I wanted to revisit the app in better conditions so this video is on a bright sunny day. Based on tips from the developer on how to improve video quality, I also made some adjustments like turning on airplane mode, removing my bluetooth enabled Apple watch and turning off background app refreshing. Hello! Is there a way to program the tello to avoid objects by a foot when flying it. Im an hvac technician and i want to use the drone to take pictures of the units and rating plates on building rooftops. Im kind of new to the drone world but ive been practicing with a 20 dollar drone and i got pretty good with it.

No obstacle avoidance sensors on the Tello. It does have bottom facing sensors, but I'm not aware of any hacks to get that kind of functionality.

If I would look for a good camera FAMILY drone, for indoor and vacation photography. Thanks M H. I haven't tested the Eachine so I can't really give an opinion on it. But it has a LOT more features than the Tello. If you're just looking for something to take short videos and photos of the family the Tello is fine for that. Especially photos. If you want to do a little more than that, something with more features and GPS might be what you're looking for. I can vouch for the DJI Spark if you can still find them.

Before the tello was described as a bad mini drone now many people likes this drone because of the new updates which is very good If ryze or dji will make a tello 2 they should include a SD card slot and many color variations or design that could be a more perfect mini drone Great Video by the way Gadget Inspector 👍😁👍 Tello owner here Also I have a suggestion if your tello video is not stabilize make sure that it is the latest update and try resetting it not the turn off and turn on but the reset button

Yeah it really is a good little drone. Stabilization was wacky probably due to the wind. Everything is up to date.

I think its actually perfect for that. Just make sure you have extra batteries. Now if you're wanting shots at high altitudes then this might not be the best choice. I try to keep mine below 50-60 feet.

I picked up this app. I love all the things the Tello can do in such a small package, for such an inexpensive price. EDIT: I wish there were plans for a Tello 2 with onboard recording. If they came out with a version that could record onboard (or record video onboard, and stabilize video offboard similar to some action cams) it would be a killer device!

That would definitely be nice, but I kind of think DJI wants a little separation between this tier of quad and the next level, the Mavic Mini.

@@GadgetInspector I would agree. I would love to see a good digitally stabilized micro quad, though. The Mavic Mini is good, but I imagine the gimbal adds cost. It certainly adds a mechanical complexity which can be damaged in a crash, or accidental mishandling. The Tello has an inherent durability thanks to the lack of mechanical gimbal, and an upgrade could make it a great, "pocket drone," while still having the Mavic Mini be the next step up to Full HD, and higher quality stabilization.

You definitely could. The only thing is you can’t lock the screen from the app, so you hit something on the screen in your pocket. I should ask the developer to add a lock screen button.
