we went here this summer and I fell in LOVE. I know you think of this place and associate it with skiing, but I promise it offers so much beauty and nature to explore during the summer - I highly recommend. We started off in Durango and drove to Telluride taking the scenic route. Honest to god one of the most scary drives ever but also hands down the most beautiful drive I've ever experienced. Never experienced mountains like that, deep/steep mountain roads with no guard rails, it felt like we were in Switzerland. Can't wait to go back.

Definitely check out All Reds as well for eating. Its in the middle station of the Gondolas to mountain Village from Telluride! That food is next level as well.

I was a supervisor in the Telluride ski school way back when. She has nailed it. All stated is true and then some.

Telluride is my favorite Ski/ Snowboard town! Yes, it's a little more difficult to get to, but as you mentioned, no lines at the lifts makes up for that big time! Plus, you just cant beat those views!

What hotel in town do you recommend closest to the runs or lifts

@@michaelsutherland9069 I can't say for sure what hotel to stay in because we stayed in a cabin when visiting. However, one hotel that was ski in/ski out that we would pass every time heading to our cabin was The Peaks Resort and Spa. I'm not sure what level of runs you're looking for but it sits on a green run. You take that down and hop on the sunshine express and that will get you to areas where you can connect to more difficult runs.

I Ski'd for 2 winters when I was 14 & 15. I've only been skiing 4 times sense then. I even have 2 sets of Ski's but never went because I'm alone. I knew some relatives of Jessie James. They still name their kids after Jessie. I love your vlogs.

Thanks man! I totally hear you about skiing every now and then. I average once every six years. Hence why I prefer apres ski-- I practice drinking much more often.

I live in Vail and recently did a day trip to Telluride for the first time to check out the fall colors. It is a pretty awesome place. I'll definitely be back. Plus, at least according to their website, their lift tickets are like half of what it costs to ski in Vail. I think peak season here was $189 last year, and on Telluride's website they are only $87.

I rode Telluride 40 days per season for 5 years. It's definitely one of the best. LOTS of snoody stuck up locals though. Taos is every bit as good...especially after the new lift. Taos also has more vertical elevation without having to get back on another lift. Telluride has more vertical elevation on paper...but you cant go from Palmyra peak to base in one run. I would say Taos is better. Also, the heli skiing in Telluride....only 1% of people who travel there will be able to afford it. I've skydived from Brysons same heli into my field.

I used to work in Tell occaisonally. It is Not for normal working family budgets. The scenery of this box canyon is incredible but I would rather keep on driving. Plenty of other places that are not so terribly expensive and cater to people other than the very rich.
