Thanks! Just arranged one but wasn't permitted to buy outright from Telstra tho' am a customer on a Telstra plan. which seemed silly to me. It cost $126.00 stretched over 24 months. This "24 months" trap is annoying.

Can you play local content, say from a nas drive over the local network, and how well does it work?

You can play local content from a USB or HDD as it has the port on the side. As for NAS I am not sure, I haven't tested this. My guess is no, I don't believe there are any functions in the device for accessing NAS. However You can screen mirror from a phone or tablet. So there would be a way to.

Just got my Telstra Tv , not really impressed nothing that my Tbox doesn't have already and so disappointing that the remote doesn't have a volume control so I need to use 2 remotes ?.

Hold up, do you need have a telstra broadband or nbn account to use the Roku for Stan, Presto, Netflix and other catch up FTA TV channels, or just to get bigpond movies? It makes no sense that Roku would limit their product to just one isp in Aus.

+O2BSoLucky No that's not the case. It is only the Telstra TV, which is version of a Roku 2 that requires you to be a Telstra Customer. The Telstra TV was specifically made for Telstra by Roku. If you buy a Roku box that isn't a Telstra TV you do not need a Telstra account but will not have access to bigpond movies.

+Wanted797 so to be clear it is totally unusable without a broadband or nbn via Telstra? You are completely unable to use it unless you have Telstra broadband. Or nbn account. That is so limiting to the majority who have another ISP.

+O2BSoLucky The requirements are having TelstraID. Something any Telstra customer can setup including mobile customers. However BigPond movies and presto are unmetered on BigPond Internet.

Can you get 2 Telstra TVs and install and work on the same network, looking at replacing Foxtel for these boxes looks good

Yes, keep in mind you are not able to stream any Foxtel to the Telstra TV. Thus losing any live sport etc. However you can watch what you want depending on streaming service subscriptions.

You can now steam Foxtel via the new Foxtel Play app.

Don't think so. If the soundbar is connected to your TV the sound should come through.

hi we had a box set one one of our tvs had been working fine for month and half came out to put it on and all there was a dark screen no pitcher tried other leads in same port and no problem called Telstra and they told us it was faulty so we got it replaced and bought a second box to set up on other tv so it works on other tv but not main tv it had een working on can you help

i got this today and I'm VERY disappointed. you cant scroll the channels, I was told I would be getting the package with DRAMA, ENTERTAINMENT AND KIDS and I got none of it! I tried getting stan, Netflix ect ect. and I have to put my effing credit card details in EVERY SINGLE TIME!! NOT HAPPY!

Comes FREE with and a new Telstra modem when NBN hits your area. You need NBN internet speed. The old Broadband is too slow

lorrane You do not need NBN. The speed is suggested on the side of the box and is 3.5Mbps. This is possible on most ADSL but varies per area.

Could you learn how to use a microphone please. You're supposed to talk into or at least towards them. That way the audio doesn't keep fading away. They really are amazing devises when used correctly. Give it a try. Thanks.
