nice explanation. mybteacher taught in me in a different way which i dont properly under for converting a binary into gray code. it has some 3 steps. first number as it is. 2nd number adition of first and second 3rd with addition of 2nd and 3rd. and so on. what i dont get is the role of carry in that binary addition.

The logic given behind the ex-or is completely illogical, the actual reason is that ex-or gate is also known as odd detector so whenever the there will be a single 1 so the output will be 1 if there are two 1's then it is even therefore the output will be 0.
