Sir, If I am doing double exponential smoothing 5 period moving average with a software program-after 5 period exponential moving average is calculated say (X) does computer do second calculation with data X and (X-t1) (X-t2) (X-t3) (X-t4) - - - forgive me,I went to college 50 years ago..(X-t1) is exponential moving average one period prior & so on.Thank you.

Moving averages should not be used alone in practice, and they must be used in conjunction with other tools. If you watch my latest video, you get what I'm saying. Each of them has its use cases. For example if you want a moving average for identifying direction of the market, so a fast MA like TEMA is not good. But If you want to use a moving average for discovering trade entry on 5 minute time frame for example, TEMA would be a good choice.

​@@CAGB-cx4xe The strategies that I have made video, all perform very well, but the important part is the execution of them in practice, which demands experience and discipline. You must test and see which one better suits you. Practice as much as you can and start with real money only when you're consistently profitable in paper trading.

More than TEMA Hull moving average is reacts more closer to price. It works effective you can try to put video abt Hull.

As I mentioned in the video, the crossover signals should not be used alone, and they must be used in conjunction with other tools and concepts of technical analysis. I have backtested golden cross and death cross, double crossovers, based on EMA in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5zZlpyteb-qn6M Please watch it if you're interested. It can be done similarly for TEMA.
