- / temiru-vs-try-24922084
This time we'll learn how to use "てみる" (= "to try ~ing") and "ようとする (= "to try to ~ / to attempt to ~") in Japanese.
This grammar point is VERY important and frequently used in Japanese so make sure to master it!
For example, if you want to say "May I try this on?", you want to use this form てみる and say
「着てみてもいいですか。」(kite-mite-mo ii desu ka)

I’m so grateful I found your channel. I didn’t know any Japanese when I came to Tokyo and I felt so isolated and alone. My boyfriend says he doesn’t know how to teach me since it’s his native language and explaining the grammar is difficult for him, but your explanations are so patient and helpful. I really hope I can learn Japanese through your channel so I don’t have to be so alone anymore. I don’t want to always feel like I’m on the edge of society here and like I’m stupid every time I try to communicate with anyone. Thank you so much! 💕

I love the way Misa-san shows that little smile when she is explaining something that could sound weird to us westerns. She's like "I know guys, it sounds funny/it doesn't make sense". Still, Misa is the only one japanese teacher on KZbin that doesn't sound arrogant at all when she's teaching her own language. She's so kind and motivates you to keep going. Others japanese on KZbin are like: "EW! How dare you to speak MY Japanese like an asshole!"...I mean, I just leave the lesson crying.

You'd agree with Dr Johnson (the writer of the first dictionary), being quoted by his biographer Boswell in 1775 "It has been a common saying of physicians in England, that a cucumber should be well sliced, and dressed with pepper and vinegar, and then thrown out, as good for nothing." Boswell: Journal of a Tour to the Hebrides
