I like Temma's advice. It's real and he encourages us to be honest too. A relationship can't work without honesty and really if your boyfriend can't accept your hobbies (he doesn't have to participate but at least respect what you like), then that's not a relationship to keep. I'm married and my wife knows i watch vtuber, do some sc and buy some of their merch. Though i understand that irl is a priority so i do manage time and knows when i have to be with my wife, but my wife also understand my hobbies and not judging me for that. I think be open about it from the start, but still give an effort to love your other one is really important. Without effort you will just either bored or hate each other eventually.

I'd be surprised and impressed if a lady who isn't even into VTubers but knows that I am confessed her love to me. But I can't really imagine myself lasting long with a lady like that, not with that already stark difference in interests. As for being found out that I like VTubers, especially HOLOSTARS, I'm not worried about a lady finding that out about me. Heck, I'm not even going to hide how I like VTubers, and I'd be happy to have her getting into these way more decent and creative talents I look up to. But even with how open I want to be about myself, I still have worry about how she'll take how down abyssal I look at, say, the Stars' work sisters and how my fave VTuber is Axel because of how dudebro he is. And that third Marshmallow...reminds me of how I made myself such a tryhard about relating to my first and previous girlfriend's liking for her favorite artists that I'm not really into or as into as she is. My usual ways of gushing about the ladies didn't help, too. Makes me even more surprised about how we were together for around two years. And now, I'd like to send special mention to Temma's chuckling here, which feels like something I'd do a lot as I speak stuff like what I wrote here in this comment...and I guess even in general. This is unrelated but why is "好き" always translated as "love" in anime and clips even when it doesn't make sense? Even when you are using it to say you like someone romantically, "love" is such a strong word in English when used romantically to the point people dating don't say it to each other until they are really close. I don't think it's correct or appropriate to translate someone saying 好き in their first confession to their crush as "love".

It's not about ntr. When you are in a relationship your lover may want a certain ammount of attention and time based on their own mentality and some people may feel jealous about someone else (or something else) if they feel unsatisfied. At the end as he said it's better to break a relationship before it's too late. About the 5 years guy i guess it's just an excuse or he doesn't really know how to end a relationship.
