The bathroom is where I first set up my darkroom five years ago. Now I use a walk in closet and have enough space for an enlarger, four trays and myself. If it works it works.

It's actually super intresting to see you handling the development without having enough space for a machine. Love your content Thank you for giving me the courage and knowledge for my first steps!

Good to see you back. Always enjoyed your videos, they are entertaining and educational. I always learn something from them. I think you did fine in your new, small darkroom. Keep it up.

Great idea for the rubber pad under the roller base. Why didn't I think of that!! Previously had been simply using tea towels: not bad but too slide-y. (I can probably use the same silicone dogfood mat material I used to make my Epson 10x8 scanning mount from. I use this for E6/C41 as well as B&W: so long as you start with higher temperature e.g. 40ºC/104ºF, not a problem.)

Before I did the inversions at the beginning with my Jobo 2520 tank and 4x5 sheet film, I got awful results! Since I do some inversions to get all film in contact with the developer as quick as possible - things are much more relaxed after that! (I do the same with every step, works very well.)

That yellow Crocs are delicious, my man. Matches the Kodak apron. Very nice.

Have you done any videos specifically about staining/pyro developers and the impact on printing etc? I shoot a lot of half frame and have found that 510 pyro works really well for me, the stain filling in around the grain seems to really smooth things out when dealing with the smaller formats. I'm using 510 at the moment, but have bought some pyrocat HD to test, as I've heard the stain colour of HD has slightly less impact on VC papers. I've tried reading Sandy King's article on pyro and printing, but could do with a more introductory level description of the impact.

I started to make the different negatives to make a video on the pyro topic but got sidetracked. I’ll finish some day

I'm interested in how or what you used to make the attachment to the faucet. Does your faucet have threads on it? I haven't seen those.

Most faucets, at least in the US, have an aerator on them that is removable.

My bathroom is my darkroom. I live in an efficiency apt so only three rooms, bath kit and main....lol. But hey, any place in a pinch, right? I only do 35mm and 120 so I'm not as pushed for space as you are with 8x10.

You might want to just drop the bathroom and set up a folding table in the garage for processing. Add some vertical shelves if wife will allow if ya stay in the bathroom. I had a removable table over sink that gave access to the full counter space but still allowed water access when I worked in a similar space. Have fun figuring it out.

The garage has windows and it’s about to get real hot and humid here in KY. I’ll stay in the AC

Are you able to explain what the purple that is left over before you refixed is, and what causes it?
@TheNakedPhotographer
@TheNakedPhotographer 5 ай бұрын
The film was making contact with the lip of the tube in the tank. This prevented fixer from getting to the back side of the film. Some of the anti halation or other coatings are dissolved in the fixer, water isn’t enough to remove them.
