What I saw is truly amazing! Congratulations for what you have built for these fellows! Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷!

Thank you! If I lived in Greece, I probably would ‘t need to mess around so much with temp control!

@@Echosaviary it depends, if you lived in the North I think you should. If you lived in the East though,you probably wouldn't need to...

That is an amazing aviary! Just curious how much it cost you to build that aviary? Also the cost to run the heaters?
@Echosaviary

Thank you! It was ridiculously expensive. The plexiglass panels were around $8000 to give an idea. The coldest, darkest, month is about $200. However, even on the coldest days, if it is sunny, the heaters shut off as it gets toasty warm without them.

Really nice aviary, what cooling fan you used?

Thank you! It doesn’t look like I can add a photo here, but it is a 12 inch diameter VES exhaust fan plugged into a temperature controller. Used with greenhouses.

Lovely aviary, made with love. What are the heaters you're using? As I'm looking to build an aviary this summer, but in the UK it gets very cold

Thanks! They are heatstorm brand infrared heaters. Have worked very well. Not cheap to heat through the winter in washington, with my set up, but reliable so far and can control through phone. Maintenance is cleaning air intake filters every few months- easy

I might of missed the two separate rooms you have. One for the birds to sleep and keep warm and one for the flight .

I have a corner of the aviary that is enclosed so it can be heated to a higher temp without breaking the bank. There is a small opening between it and the main aviary. Birds are free to come and go as they please between the two

Hi . What about the electric heaters in the avairy while you use the water mister .or is it all covered up so it can't get wet .
@Echosaviary
@Echosaviary 3 жыл бұрын
Good question, they are in different areas so they can’t get wet.

What are the dimensions of the aviary? And how many birds and of what species?🙂
@Echosaviary
@Echosaviary 4 жыл бұрын
It is 12 feet by 16 feet by 10 foot tall. The number of birds varies but typically less than 15. I have parrotfinch, firefinch, waxbill, oliveback and mannikins at the moment.

Thanks! I was planning an aviary which is 8 ft by 8 ft and 7.2 ft tall. Would that be enough to permanently and comfortably house 7 budgerigars for non-breeding purposes? Good to know that you give such a spacious enclosure for the finches!😀
@Echosaviary
@Echosaviary 4 жыл бұрын
I would think the budgies would be very happy in that space.

Nice😊. I decided to upgrade it! So now it measures 9 ft by 8.4 ft by 8 ft tall. Thanks for your suggestion on the space for a cage confined budgie . Definitely subscribing! BTW, what are the interior/usable space of your aviary, counting out the door and roof?
