Once I brought my nephew to an arcade. I was playing Tempest for a full hour (I never made it past level 11). Afterwards, when I was driving home, I was in the center lane when two cars , one in the left lane and one on the right, started merging into my lane in front of me. Nothing dangerous, but for a split second I started reaching for the Superzapper. I immediately thought, "Oh, man, that's not good." I never played the game again, mainly because pinball was my game. Tempest is one of most interesting video games I ever played. You did a phenomenal job.

Here's a funny story about me and Tempest! Growing up in the late '80s and early '90s, there were still alot of Golden Age games available in arcades like Showbiz, Time Out, and Aladdin's Castle. I happened to play Tempest in one of them, and I was hooked! I could master the first few levels, but I always had to be careful when the wall-climbers hit. Anyhow, I later entered junior high, and in English, teacher says we're reading Shakespeare's The Tempest. Instantly, my mind went to the arcade game Tempest! I really thought the game was inspired by a fine work of literature! It wasn't (it was rather inspired by a dream the programmer had where demons climbed out of hell), but The Tempest is regarded as "the first sci-fi story," anyways. (Note: I'm just making this up! I lived in the late '00s and early '10s IRL!)
