very cool story so far. It never ceases to amaze me what a human brain is capable of - like telling stories about life forms somewhere in the universe in such detail as if they really happened while it is all (science) fiction. Nice to see what your brain is capable of and how you handle it. Kind of bizarre if think about the process: a story formed in your mind, you write down your thoughts, Larry Gorman reads them aloud, and here we listen to all that in order to allow our brains to (trans)form it into the story you came up with in your mind. I am glad that there are audiobooks and that you share your work with us. Thank you so much for all that :) And now, off to your next book... :)

Best installment so far! I just listened to one of my favorite authors' audio books. The gentleman reading it trashed an otherwise excellent story. I'm glad this one is soooo much better. Shoot, I've even heard A.I. narators better that that one. Waiting on the edge of my seat for your next installment.

Very good book! Seems modeled a bit after classic Star Trek what with the paranoid first contact and the emphasis on diplomcacy and cultural understanding and a Data-esque side story as well -- which is a fine approach. Nice ironic writing and a great reader. Thanks!

There’s a lot of moments where the audio cuts for the chapter before it end. But it’s not too bad and leaves room to guess what was said. But it’s still annoying because I feel as if I’m missing more information even tho I doubt I am.
@Obligate.Carnivore2 жыл бұрын
Your editor cuts some of the wrds of at the end of some of the chapter. Just a lil heads up. I have enjoyed all of it though.

It's a compression issue due to converting the audio to a video, I also pointed this out to the Author who let me know. Funnily enough I've been reading the ebooks in this series and maybe it's an ebook issue or not, but Eric Warren (author) could have used a proofreader at the very least, or a better editor. Some misspellings, missing words, wrong spellings, etc. appear in the ebooks.
@Obligate.Carnivore2 жыл бұрын
@@Eidolon1andOnly I always think I hear typos. LoL thanks for letting me know I'm not crazy.
@TheArkvander2 жыл бұрын
That's part of the problem of being a one-man show, lol. But I did hire a video editor for the next book to try and prevent that from happening. As for the misspellings and missing words, I'm really sorry about that. The book went through three rounds of edits as well as a group of about 15 people who read and looked for issues before publication. Sometimes things still slip through, unfortunately. If you recall any specifically, I'd be happy to go back and fix them.

@@TheArkvander I think it's more of an ebook thing, seems like ebooks tend to have these kind of errors more often than physical books. I can give one example off the top of my head because I read this not long ago, but in book 6, at the end of chapter 19, Cas says "Let's get of here." where the word "out" is missing. I also remember something where Cas or maybe another character went to a sink and got "at glass of water" instead of "a glass of water" though I can't remember exactly where that appears or which book it appears in.

Sorry! That's an issue due to the compression. I'm working on getting it fixed for future videos. The audiobooks don't have that problem, it's just due to my crappy editing software.
@Eidolon1andOnly2 жыл бұрын
Sad, I've been reading the series, you really lost the track after these first two books, then assassinated every main character with the pitty parties, the forced relationship with zero chemistry which also makes no sense due to the inappropriate nature of a superior officer with a junior officer, Box becoming crazed over reproduction (putting that lightly) and living up to the annoyance Cas always complained about, and I'm only in book six with Planetfall. The padding of internal monologuing is also tiresome. I've been breezing through your books by skipping paragraphs and even entire chapters. What started as a fun sci-fi adventure became a never ending pitty party of the two main characters, and rather depressive.
@Obligate.Carnivore2 жыл бұрын
Yes that seems to happen with a lot of writers. They seem to phone in the story just to post a story! I still listen though, just in case something good is in there. Plus probably an addiction too! LoL I'm disabled and have nothing good in my life other than my dog & these stores.
