Guys, the story of the Templars is fascinating! 🗡 In 1119, Hugues de Payens and a small band of knights swore an oath to protect Christian pilgrims traveling the dangerous roads to the Holy Land, forming what would become the Knights Templar. With their growing influence, the Catholic Church took control, granting them immense power and wealth, making them untouchable... But King Philip IV of France, drowning in debt to the Templars, saw an opportunity to escape his financial ruin by orchestrating their downfall. Philip betrayed the Templars, and then persuaded the Church to turn against their once-loyal knights as well, accusing them of heresy. The Templars were hunted down by King Philip and the Catholic Church, tortured, and burned at the stake in a violent purge. 💀 However... Some believe that a small group of Templars may have escaped, fleeing to the distant shores of Scotland, where the legacy of the Templar knights may have lived on... ⚔🌊 Thank you everybody for watching and supporting the channel! Have a great weekend! 🌿

This is definitely different than the usual submissions - and I am thankful for it having a more dark fantasy feel. I have enjoyed many of the eastern and middle-eastern pieces from the more ancient setting, but this one stretches some different muscles. I approve!

Thanks Friggin! I'm definitely interested in doing a little more from other cultures/settings and will eventually move into some locations from literature as well. The middle eastern videos are definitely far more popular, but it's also important to venture out and try new things. I'm so thankful for viewers like you. Thank you for all the support!! 🌿

This could absolutely be in a great movie. The woman's vocals were incredibly clear. So pure. I also really liked the monk chants. When they sing, it has something very special on it. The melody was dramatic, for sure, but really powerfull. The history behind this guys were interesting, but shows that no one should have more mightyness then the other. That applies for the church and the templars. Though i always found this group of men kind of mysterious. Always questioning what did they in reality. It's like there is a secret that's bigger then science could maybe think of and is hidden somewhere between the lines. Thank you for doing the research and for putting such great work in your music 😇

Thanks, Stargazer! You're absolutely right, no one should have more mightiness or power than any other. In doing this video I had to learn a lot more about the templars than I did - history is definitely more fascinating that you'd think -- And I definitely believe there's far more we don't know about them. Thank you for always watching and supporting the channel, Stargazer!! 🌿

OMG this is my favorit so far !! And the picture speaks for it self. Thank you so much Bro!!! Let me add some more information about the last days of the Knights. Did yo know the first bank was created by them? A trial followed in Paris in 1310, after which 54 brothers were burned at the stake. In 1314 the Grand Master of the order, James of Molay, and the preceptor of Normandy, Geoffrey of Charney, were burned too, again in Paris, the former still protesting his innocence as he was marched to his funeral pyre. The fate of the order as a whole, though, was decided by the 1311 Council of Vienne. Investigations carried out in the previous three years into the order's affairs across Europe were considered, as were confessions (likely acquired through torture), which were uneven in nature - most knights in France and Italy, and three from England confessing to all charges but none doing so in regard to the most serious accusations from Cyprus or the Iberian peninsula. A group of knights called to hear their defence were, in the event, not called, and when Philip arrived at the council, the Pope officially declared the order terminated on 3 April 1312, although the reason was for the damaging loss of its reputation rather than any verdict of guilt. Physical evidence for the accusations - records, statues of idols etc. - was never produced. In addition, many knights later retracted their confessions even when they were already condemned and to do so served no purpose. The majority of former Templar knights were pensioned off and banned from joining any other military order. Many of the assets of the Templars were passed onto the Knights Hospitaller by order of the Pope on 2 May 1312. They have even be acused of satanism.

You're a legend, Miguel! In making the video, I did discover that they were in fact the originators of basically the first bank. So fascinating! But this whole story is incredibly deep. So many confessions were given under duress. And it's very interesting that the Knights Hospitallers were given most of the loot by order of the Pope... Thanks for the research Miguel! ⚔🌿

The Knights Templar story continues to this day in the Freemasons, an organization that traces its roots back to Scotland and the exiled Knights. When you see a freemason symbol on a building, you are looking at the hands of the Knights Templar. I think...

Hey Valkyrin! It means a lot to me to hear you've supported the channel for a while, so thank you! ⚔️ While I'm definitely looking at expanding the project to include more people - up til now, it's been just myself working on the channel alone. But I'm definitely considering bringing more people on board as the channel gets bigger! Thanks again for all the support! 🌿
