The Temple of the Damned in the Undercity is in fact explicitly called that in the map that came with WoW's original manual (IIRC the Lands of Conflict RPG book has the same map).

Which do you prefer, Warcraft lore or World of Warcraft lore?

Personally I think the RTS games work better as a straight framing device for a story. WoW contains volumes of lore, I’d say most of what I know comes from reading the wikis though. Some of my favourite characters and stories are in the RTS titles, but I may not be invested in them as much without WoW. Tough call. “Would you like to know more?”
