Temple residents picking up the pieces after EF-2 tornado

Residents are having to find shelter with their homes destroyed or without power, and businesses are closed or even leveled.

I’m in Temple and there were no warnings of the tornado. The forecast was for partly cloudy and humid. What a waste of money the NWS is.

We watch The Weather Channel most of the day around 1PM they started warning of a tornado in bell county in the 6PM-8PM hours. Now what shocked us is that there was no tornado sirens going off as it hit down, we live off North Adams and no local warning is insane.

@DOSU490 That's not true. I'm in Temple, too. The storm was tornado warned (radar indicated) before it even hit Fort Cavazos with all local news and weather channels telling people to take precautions well before it tracked towards us. We had a decent amount of time to prepare. I hope you and yours is okay.

@@tamarawhiteurst8727 It's possible power was knocked out to those. I live a couple miles east of where the tornado occurred, and I heard sirens about 10 minutes before the winds got here, then they cut out for about two minutes, then came back on through the duration of the winds.

We found out about 7 minutes before it hit on the news. I was about to sit down and eat my dinner. That was the hungriest I've been in a very long time. I mean we ate but it wasn't like normal.
