No, this only applies to Asvab confirmation. Picat is called a verification, and people still have to verify it.

I’m going to Meps Monday morning my recruiter said it might be 50/50 are they still doing this ? I know I got lucky on the Asvab so I’m worried

Thank you for your comment. We are not really sure what you mean by 50/50. However, your preparation is what will increase your possibility to pass the ASVAB with a good score. If you are referring to the confirmation test, as of now, it has been eliminated until September of this year. ⁠I have question Fernando I am in marine corps and I am about to retake my ASVAB or AFCT they are same thing but they called different on March 11 2024 and this is going to be my sixth attempt retaking it after I took it on august 7 2023 and I have to wait 6 month to retake it if i score high on my test let’s say I score AFQT 92 and GT score is 120 and my current asvab score is 47 with GT score 104 is it true that I don’t have to take the confirmation test because it been more than six month ?

That is correct. Since you have waited 6 months to retake the test, you won't have to take the confirmation exam. Also keep in mind that there's an exemption on the confirmation test until September 30, 2024.

I score 31 on my practice then when i took my picat again at my recruiter office i got 24 and tomorrow im going to meps and do verification i really study My concerns was becoz that day i took my picat i was rush my wife waiting outside the office i have to work later and time is running for me i only have 2 hours sleep so i got so much burden when i took that picat so what if i score more on my verification are they gonna make me do the full asvab coz like i said i only score 24 on my picat 😢

If you scored 24 AFQT points, we recommend you double-check with your recruiter if you take a full ASVAB, as 24 is not a passing score. If you took a real PiCAT and passed, you must take a verification test. In the validation test, they will give you 20-30 questions, very similar to the ones you were given on the PiCAT. It lasts about 20-30 minutes. The way you answered on the PiCAT, is the way you should answer on the checkout. This means that if you got a question wrong in the PiCAT, in the validation, your answer is supposed to be wrong as well. If not, the system may automatically give you a full ASVAB.

The exemption has been extended until September 30th 2024. Which means that applicants should not have to take the confirmation test until that date. However, we would recommend confirming with your recruiter.

The information we have at this time is that it is still in effect yes, but we do strongly recommend that you reach out to a recruiter and verify if it is applicable to you. In some states, some branches and for specific cases the confirmation exam is still a requirement so ideally you want to wait for your recruiter to inform you if you have to or not take the confirmation exam. Hey i just retook the asvab and my first score was a 22 and now i got a 45 which was an increase of 23. My recruiter said i activated the confirmation test. Is this exemption still in effect? Please lmk and thank you

Hello, Thanks for asking. As far as we know, the exemption is still in effect. We have seen similar cases where students have been informed that they still need to take the confirmation, but later are told differently. Our recommendation would be to contact your recruiter to further investigate your case.

I don’t have my score yet and due to Helene (hurricane) meds are close in Tampa. At this point who knows if I will get the score by Friday. So if I get it after the 1st you think I need to confirm ?

So far, we have not been informed this exemption will be lifted by Oct 01st; however, even if your results are not in after that date, you would have taken the exam prior to that date, so you shouldn't have to confirm; although it is best to check with the recruiter to be certain.
