When you apply for a temporary visa, whether that be a work permit, a study permit, or a visitor visa, you will be required to show proof of ties to your home country. In your application, you must show that you will return home before your visa expires. One of the main reasons temporary visas are refused is because the applicant didn’t provide strong enough evidence of ties to their home country.

This would help, if you’re the age of majority, you’ll need to show you’re employed or in school, as they’ll want to see what you’re doing in your home country. Overall the goal of visiting needs to make sense.

Hi jade, recently I got my 2nd refusal. the reason are; * I am not satisfied that you will leave canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 200(1)(b) of the IRPR. I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave canada. * You do not have significant family ties outside canada. *Your current employment situation does not show that you are financially established in your country of residence. * You have limited employment possibilities in your country of residence. * You were not able to demonstrate that you will be able to adequately perform the work you seek. Establishment in your home country refers to your level of financial, work, and family stability in your home country. The officer wants to see if you’re working and for how long, what money and other assets, such as property you have, and what family do you have in your country.

Yes, you need to show ties to your country of citizenship, regardless of where you are residing.

Thank you for the video but I have some questions. Im a Canadian from calgary and my wife is currently in Lebanon. We have been together for 4 years and married for 2 years and only have spend a total of 2 months together. Due to covid first visitor Visa to for ever so we wre directed to apply for thr portal visa also and recived refusal in the same week for both due to family ties. We reapplied with a contract from here employer that she is employed at the hospital and will be back in 1 month. Also a sworn affidavit from me in the invitation letter. And today she got refused again for family ties. Not sure how I can see my wife any time so and have here support beside me. Hello, I recently got my canada visa refusal. The reason was "I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your story of having contravened the conditions of admission on a previous stay in Canada". I have never been to any country from India. Also, 8th Feb was first time when I appeared for Biometric for very first time. Also, my passport is completely blank. Any suggestion would be helpful.

Reasons being that my youngest child is an infant and my husband would help me to take care of him while I study. These all seem like strong ties, I think that most important thing here will be your study plan. What is your plan for after you study? Why are you taking this particular course? Why is it that the entire family is coming (I’d focus on the kids)

Hello, first of all, thank you for all those information. I'd like to ask about the proof of ties to my home country. Well, in my case, I am 25 and trying to apply for a study permit with my spouse. In our culture, it is normal to finance your life by yourself- family is generally not included in those financial situations- so, we just bring some money together and I have a good amount of scholarship with a TA position. I do not have any property or so, so what should I add to my application then? My spouse has a good-paying job in general and I want to pursue an academic career, this is my first motivation to come to Canada for PhD, but it is kind of confusing to understand this tie issue.

Thank you for the video. A quick question, please. We are the Russian citizens, but for the last 17 years we've been living in Dubai. My wife is a professional music teacher. A freelancer. She was accepted to one college from the official list. As she will go to the college, our kids and I are planning to wait for her in Dubai. After the college, she will also back to Dubai. (We don't have plans to go back to Russia or stay in Canada, as the UAE is a tax free country and her income is higher, than she can get in Canada). She is a genuine student. This often happens, the ties and your plan need to be to return to your home country, as Dubai does not offer true permanent residency for residents. It is normal that they would refuse her application if she did not have plans to return to Russia.

We generally recommend ordering GCMS notes to review the officer’s case notes which will show us why it was refused, from there, you can address them in a new application and include new evidence to strengthen your case. I’m 26 years old, and I really want to visit my sister her husband and my little nephew, my bank statement is around 30K CAD, and I work on a percentage basis in my dads company in Pakistan, it’s reflective on my statement.
