The materials are likely different. There are different grades of metal and silicone/plastic. The Chinese version may be made with materials that are not food safe.

And if you get it on sale you can get it for way cheaper!!! Yeehaw! I’ve seen them as cheap as 6 bucks! Bought mine for maybe 10 or 11-same cream one as yours!♥️ HIGHLY recommend the dupe. You can also buy the rubber protector for the bottom for maybe a buck, or strap on a little wallet they sell too for 2 bucks. So fun to accessorize the cup!

So the first Stanley dupe I got was on Temu and mine looks exactly like a regular Stanley. It just doesn’t have the Stanley sign! And then when I got my first real Stanley, it was a complete different version, but it was still a real Stanley. it has the handle on the top instead of on the side and mine has the straw that can close and it’s connected to the, Stanley and my sister got a real Stanley and a Stanley dupe and she got a pink one like her Stanley dupe, and they look exactly the same. You can’t even tell the difference except for her Stanley dupe is a little little bigger.

Eh they're both worthwhile but kids can both be shallow or apathetic. Either way great for you! Real or not, both of them are still good cups.. THough 40 oz might still be too much. If people bully you over a cup, it might just be fun seeking for them or kids being kids. But it can be worthwhile just having a thick skin, laughing it off or not caring. Trends can be fun, but if you spend your life trying to please people who care about a trend more than you, you might waste your money and time. As you get older, the more relationships, good or bad can fade as people move on. And cup based trends are probably the first to go when even original best friends fade away after a college, or just life diverging.

Minor note but if you go for a stanley or a Temu dupe, try to get a Generation 2 cup! ( Silicon handle vs janky sharp edge handle) Silicon handle seems minor, but i got two versions, the sharp corners are noticably more annoying in the hand. It feels worse to hold. It's not major, but if you use a cup, fair chance you'll be holding it all day, and they're the same price anyways, so its' worth it for ergonomics. Also not major but with all the worry about lead in the solder at the bottom to make the vaccuum. (Turns out nearly every thermos uses lead to seal, minus Hydroflask and some other cup, even though tin/zinc solder is readily available), Some temu models can differ on the bottom! I got one generation two with the steel button at the bottom, feels very secure! My generation 1 temu knockoff has a cheap ass feeling 'alumnium sticker', it flakes if i poke it with my finger! Now of course it's still probably sealed with paint, and my thermoflask also has the lead divot covered with paint. And it should be fairly unreactive unless flaked, and a lot of our pipes are lead and it's mostly unreactive unless directly exposed or powdered to breath in, or acids (like lemonade/drinks!) on the bottom. But considering both cups are nearly always the same price anyways (5$-6$). Why not just get the extra piece of mind, and a steel button protector on the bottom generation 2 cup (smooth handle + silicon grips). And maybe a 50 cent cup boot to prevent spills/slips. And i highly recommend getting 10 extra straws for a dollar too if you want. Makes washing extra nice and easy to rotate out the straws and soak/clean em easier!

But then again, it’s not about how it looks. And some people it’s not about the price Stanley can stay iced up to 48 hours. I feel mines up the night before last till the next morning they stay cold for a really long time and they could stay hot for at least seven hours. Stanley is good and it’s expensive because the cups are for camping and construction workers but somebody made it a trend and everybody started buying it.

Temu now carries a second generation with double wall insulation also you can buy a little rubber stopper that prevents leaking when it's tipped over. Like nobody sits around with a drink for eight freaking hours I'll take the six dollar Temo over the $50 Stanley any day of the week.
