Hi guys! So sorry for the poor quality on some of these clips! Basically what has happened is I have applied stabilisation to my own clips in the intro, and for some reason, those settings were applied to the entire video, including the POVs in different aspect ratios on some reasonably rough old coasters. Whoops! Unfortunately, since I'm working most days, I really don't have the time to export the video again. I'm working on 3 more videos at the same time right now alongside my work commitments, so I'm just going to have to accept that this is the way the video came out. I'm sorry if it's annoying to you, and I promise to make sure the stabilisation doesn't do this again in future videos! Thanks for watching, and keep an eye out for vlogs direct from the parks coming next week!

Thanks for your comment! I'll be doing a video on Hopkins & Pearce soon!
@MaloneysCoasters
@MaloneysCoasters Жыл бұрын
@@Jobantus Thanks for bringing that to my attention! RCDB lists Wild Mouse as a Hopkins & Pearce and one of the Indonesia models as the non-Hopkins model, hence my confusion, but on closer inspection, it appears you're right. You've actually sent me down a rabbit hole that is only going to make by H&P video more interesting, so thank you!
@MaloneysCoasters
@MaloneysCoasters Жыл бұрын
@@Jobantus Appreciate your concern and advice. I'd just like to remind you that I'm making these videos for fun. They make me no money. I have a job, social life, relationship and my health to take care of. I appreciate the help in finding correct information. I never intend to spread falsehoods, and I do intend to fix the stabilisation issues and do a reupload, as I believe that shouldn't take more than an hour or two when I have some free time. But if I'm going to pull videos down and remake them every time I make a mistake or have a minor factual error, then it isn't fun any more, it's a chore. I'll happily correct myself in a future video on the same topic, and these comments are available for anyone who wants clarification on this video. Just keep in mind that not every creator on this platform is here to make perfect content that will make them a living or make them famous. Some of us just like making videos when we have some free time. The only measure of whether I think a video was successful or not is whether I had fun making it. And honestly, I have 2 vlogs, a technical analysis and a longer video on the way that are much higher on my priority list for the small amount of free time I get. Just remember: we're talking about roller coasters. They're fun. It's not that serious. I appreciate your enthusiasm and input, it really has helped in this instance, but this previous comment came across as extraordinarily demanding. I'm a hobbyist with a part-time job and 350 subs, not El Toro Ryan. The reason I stopped uploading for a few months was that I wasn't finding KZbin fun any more. I get such a small amount of free time, I'm not going to spend it on something I don't enjoy. So no, it's not really my priority to correct this minor factual error at this time. Sorry if that upsets you.

Thunderbolt, Mine Cart, Tower of Terror, Corkscrew, Lethal Weapon - all these classic rides from my trip to Gold Coast in the 90’s. I went this year with my own kids - was saddened that all these classics were gone :(

I was born in 2002 and my mum alwaysssss hyped up how good the mine cart ride was at dreamworld.. I don't believe I have any memories of going on it before it closed. I was always intrigued and amazed with this haunted and scary looking ride just standing there with no riders or movement at all.

I miss the Eureka Mountain Mine ride the most. I never went on it, as I wasn’t born until 3 years after it’s closure, but I am completely obsessed. As a Gold Coast local, I always had passes, so when it was demolished in 2017, I was really sad, as I was hoping it would re open.

There’s another three from the short lived World Expo Park amusement park at World Expo 88 in Brisbane. Three Vekoma models - a boomerang called Titan, the suspended coaster Centrifuge similar to the Arrow model and and indoor spaghetti bowl, Supernova. The best of them was the boomerang, so you can imagine how bad the others were.

I loved that coaster. I’d describe the ride as more aggressive than rough. For a lot of my friends it was their favourite coaster too. Even after the retheme and new trains. The VR was fun too but I was always amazed the headsets didn’t fly off and take another rider’s head off.

The Big Dipper at Luna Park Melbourne was a great roller coaster. I remember it being a thrilling ride with some good air time. It had a basic lap bar restraint. My friend had never been on a roller coaster before when I made him ride it with me. The ride attendant didn’t secure the lap bar which terrified my friend even more! I told him it wasn’t there to stop him falling out but to stop people standing and messing around while on the ride. There has never been another roller coaster as good as the Big Dipper in Melbourne since. Such a shame. At one stage they reported a better coaster would fill its place but it never eventuated.

And of course adventureworld is forgotten again, turbo mountain the only jet star 2 with a chain lift. Originally had the spiral lift at sydney for the olympics and then made its way over where it was converted to a chain lift. Was plenty forceful, very smooth and only had issues with the brakes knocking your teeth out at the end

I loved the Tower of Terror, even though I've only experienced the backwards version, it was fun and simple. Lethal Weapon/Arkham Asylum, I've only been on twice. First time, it wasn't pleasant because I kept bumping my head on the sides. Gave me a headache but years later when they brought the VR to it, I actually enjoyed it. It was fun to experience my first VR Roller-coaster ride.

I have great memories of marathoning Corkscrew with my best friend from primary school in the 1980s. We’d beg my parents or his parents to take us to Sea World. Once we were through the gate at opening time, we would race to the “super duper triple looper” for its first ride. Often there’d be no one waiting. The ride op would ask “Wanna go again?” Of course we all screamed “Yeah!”, and roll through the station, four, five times in a row.

The Bush Beast... I grew up with that coaster.... my sister took us kids for a drive to check out Wonderland being built back in the early 80’s before the park even opened. As a little boy, I was mesmerised at the scale of this coaster... it would take me a few years before I eventually gained the courage to ride it.. I was about 13yo by this time... I was hooked... and eventually worked at Wonderland for a short period of time in 2001-2002... in my non-working time, I would ride all the popular rides.. The Demon being my all-time fav ride. I still dream about Wonderland to this day... that it is still open and I could ride the rides as much as I like... unfortunately that’s all they are now... dreams. Sadness.... #bringbackwonderland

Apologies for this... I'm not sure what happened here. I used a lot of different clips with different aspect ratios and quality, so it's possible that the video didn't export properly. I'm going to see if I can fix it and reupload, but it appears to only be happening to some clips. Edit: It appears to be an issue where my editing software has applied the stabilisation settings I used for my own clips to all of the clips in the video. I'm working on a fix if I can.
