It’s not fair to ask someone whether they prefer “Rubber Soul” or “Revolver” as they represent different steps in the evolution of The Beatles music creation.
@realemetic15 жыл бұрын
That's true, they are two different steps in evolution, like walking but having a prehensile tail, then losing the prehensile tail and developing language. I think if you really really nitpick the evolution of their musicianship started with George Harrison coming up with the 6th chord that ends She Loves You, and started to speed up with the tempo break with that timpani-sounding drum strike (what is that?) in Every Little Thing.

Revolver was the first album that showed the change , growth and evolution of the Beatles , but I LOVE every era of them. Thank you for an excellent storyline along with fab and gear vids.

I think rubber soul got the Best selection of all the albums. I like all Beatle songs. Don't get me wrong..

There are Five albums that stand apart from the others. All Beatle albums are great. Rubber Soul changed my world in that something was being said. as a thirteen year old I could not tell you what that "something" was. As a sixty seven year old I cannot tell you what the "something" was. I always thought Revolver is all about the music. Happy Happy Happy. Then more shit hit the fan than any sane person could have foreseen and these poor guys had the youth of the world looking to them for some type of support. Beatles six and Revolver are my favorite tunes albums. Rubber Soul is a spiritual experience. bob

Rubber Soul was the first Beatles album i fully listened to. It was about 1,5 year ago when i asked my grandparents if they had any Beatle vinyls I've heard some songs of them back then. It was lovely when i had a listen to it! I now have heard a lot of the Beatles' songs, but i still have 3 albums i want to listen to, on vinyl, for the first time.

Let me put it like this: Rubber Soul/Revolver is the better of their two double albums.

Two awesome albums start to finish. If I had to pick one over the other I’d choose Revolver. They took things just a little deeper and a little more experimental, which I love. Great video. Thanks.

@@ArlenPierce Every single song has its unique song idea, no two songs or parts repeat each other. Amazing bunch of creativity! In my nearly 40 years of love for Beatles songs, my preferences for the one or the other song of Rubber Soul have changed around several times, according to my personal situations in those times. But to me it has always been clear that the album as a whole is and will always be a part of my life. During all those years, Rubber Soul has never ceased feeding both my brains and my soul when needed. That's all you can probably wish from a pop album! I also know that it is more than just a pop album. I'm glad I discovered this golden piece of music already at the age of 13, so it could help me through a whole lot of different troubles throughout growing up and being an adult.

@@ArlenPierce I played In my life hundreds of thousands of times, from the very beginning of my career with the Beatles. I always took comfort out of it. I had never heard something like that classic middle harpsichord part before in my life. I still enjoy listening to it after all the years. We grew together.

In 1965 Rubber Soul was the first album I purchased, I was 14 and had been playing guitar, somewhat, for about 1 year, unfortunately my father had a portable stereo record player with a mono needle so I learned half the songs with the second track in the background, I believe this made me learn to concentrate on the music and backing tracks and made me a better guitarist and overall musician. I loved and still love this album. Later I went to Wallicks Music City and bought a proper stereo needle and learned the other half, thanks pops.

Rubber Soul is a sentimental favorite. It was more unlike anything else at the time and when I first felt The Beatles were not on danger of stagnation.All the songs were so meaningful.
