As an alternative to the Lorier consider the Invicta 1953 Subby homage. The same same stylish retro aesthetic with arguably a better Seiko NH35 movement, 200m water resistance and 1/3 the price.

All excellent, the Casio should be every enthusiasts first watch! Bill Gates wore one, probably still does!… and the Maen Hudson is good enough to be the star of a collection, unfortunately, it’s a bit small for my 8 1/4” wrist… that’s why my own sub $500 star is the Seiko King Samurai on a bracelet.. tremendous presence on the wrist and extremely legible, especially at night! As for a $300 dollar everyday wearer, the Wise Hitman looks great and can be configured to anyone’s taste!

Good list. For me, the best one is the Steinhart divers, 300 meters for real german diver.

@@ninefortyfour sw200 movement, specs by spec it definitely wins at the cost. The thing is that they are an homage brand , just like San Martin, so most youtubers and people dont count them as real brands. Which I get.

From 1 to 10 for me: Seiko turtle (padi, pepsi, og or if you can get the king on discount then do so) Seiko Arnie (need I say more?) Glycine combat sub (like a 1000plus dollar watch still readily avaliable at 500 or less, only loses to seiko in icon status) Citizen promaster (any which one really) Tissot seastar 1000 40mm (just a solid watch for the money, even has a premium quartz in it) Casio Duro (cant beat the price) Seiko samurai (the seiko for you if you like something odd) Orient mako 3 (you'll need a bracelet swap but that's about it) Seiko 5 dive style (more than good enough for 99% of ppl as a dive watch) Bulova Devil Diver (for the vintage lovers)

All Seiko are very badly regulated.

@@tancreddehauteville764 never had one that was poorly regulated. It's just a safety measure seiko puts out that if when one in a hundred seikos is a little off then they don't have to fix that 250 dollar seiko 5
