Map marking for us; B = Berries, M = Mushrooms, N = Nest, C = Copper and we use the Hammer to mark dungeons putting an "X" on them once pillaged. We also start our plays by building rough roads along the coast with the hoe even before we get our pick off the first boss. That lets us find and mark resources, build locations and gather as we strip everything we can 10 - 30 meters in from the coast. Also along our road we drop a campfire every 20m to help keep it safe from too many respawn. If you have the pick, smack the ground a couple times and put your fire in the bottom. We go back with the cultivator and make our roads "pretty" once we have a Stone Cutter to add paving where we want and the Cultivator to put the Natural look back in places we messed that up. Initial defense for your base can be made with just a Hoe, Table and Stone raise a 4 meter earthen rampart around the perimeter and use the hoe to make earthen hop-steps to get in and out without mobs being able to follow. Once you have a pick you can go around the outside of the wall and make a shallow but wide moat to keep even log trolls at bay. P.S. You did a great job and gained a new subscriber here.

Love it. We are suckers for organization and get a little obsessive over map markers and storage organization! Moats are the ultimate base defense! We usually build a full moat in each of our playthroughs eventually lined all tidy with stone blocks and make a little bridge into our bases. Such a huge project but also so worth it, especially with some of the nastier raids that happen later on! Thank you so much for the sub you made our day!

I do pretty much the same though I tend to use the like B4, B6, T3 so I know how many - sometimes you just want to harvest a lot quickly and it helps plan which area for me (and later you can prune/clear the map to only the larger deposits since the minimap can get a little cumbersome) - but use the dot for berries and tin, the hammer for copper, wrecks, or other large resources, the portalish one for crypts, cave, serpents or enemies/danger, campfire for rest points/bases with {O} if they have a portal. I ideally I would like one or two more icons to use though. . .

@sociallyferal4237 I (Sailor) started out with a system similar to this with the numbers and such; but I was always running to do something. I stopped taking the time to count and number the resources. I really should it’s so efficient, like you said with a quick glance at the map you can see where your high number resource points are and just make a quick run. Good tips! Thanks for sharing!
@sociallyferal42377 ай бұрын
@@Sailor-X-Topher I guess my journey was the reverse - I started marking everything, then as you expand and early resources become less meaningful mapping was not needed. So I took to marking the larger piles, or if there were a couple within sight then one marker for them all. After all - when you just need 10 berries for that potion a quick map check and a single closest spot identified means a short trip.

Yeah thats a simplified way of doing it, I mark the color, type, amount for resources with the dot icon. For dungeons I use the Home Icon name them, then when I clear it I click on it to "x" it out on the map (I dont remove them cuz Yellow mushroom spawns). I then mark portals and boats with the portal Icon with their connection codes. And lastly the camp fire is to make Spawners(greyling nest, Sirtling geysers, meat/bone piles)

Nice video, realy help for a new players. Obviuosly a small a tips: 1. : A food: Not for all biom you nedet a so perfectly Hp. For example, a start is a cooking neck tail+ boar/deer meet+ red mushroms a wery enaf food. For some situations, and craft, building or minig, is a better a stamina food. Moor stamina, moor shots with a bow, moor run awey, moor mining ore. 2. : For a parry: Is a some reason for perfect pary very good reason. You nedet bad a bronze, or iron buckler, not a shields. Only for that, the buckler is a 2,5x, and shield only 1,5. feders : Yes, are so mutch. Not a killing a bird, if you grand a wood, you can the feders such too. Bad is a small chance. If you a begin, is a wood arrow perfectly. Flint arow just a small for begin. If you a BlackForest catacomb, you can a plenty flint arrows catch. One smal a birds, if you will not a wood arrows, you nedet a chitinspear. If you a kraken an ocean, you have chanc a plenty. Razor knife is a very powerful weapon too. For a pary: Troll is a very dangerous for begin, is enaf for a greaddwarf for a BlackForest. Or skeletons. You can parry a archer too, bad, if a archer is a one or 2 star, is a very dangerous. This archer are very extra demages.:D And for end: If you begin you comfort is a 4 or max 5, a fire place a bed a roof a deer rug. And dan + whel with a fine wood next level. Sory for a language, bad , my english is a too little. I wish you good luck.

You can kill birds and other mobs from distance without bow and arrows. Forge a flint spear and throw it at them (mouse wheel). Note that spears have different trajectory than arrows, you must aim much higher.

Hey thanks for watching! I played (Topher) solo for a long time, and the game is amazing either way. My most fun moments have definitely been with friends, but sometimes I just want to play nice and chill by myself; I’ll often find myself intending to go take on a boss or the next part of my play through and then spend 10 hours just building cool stuff 😂

Great tips, I look for bees for their honey its a super easy food source holds up to Plains if comboed with sausages and jerky. Also Thisles are very important for brews and mid game foods so always grab. Wood club can carry you through Burials its cheap and packs a punch while also training blunt wich most swamp enemies are very weak to it. Don't under estimate the power if the Hammer tool & 10 wood easy hut deconstruction for wood, 2wood can make the cooking station to block deers from running away. Also camp fires deal huge damage, can be used for healing faster if you sit next to it, and spooks greylings away.

Avoid getting cold & wet if possible. That combined with no rested bonus = death, or at least a very sad experience... Also, use potions! Getting a boost of hp stamina or resist at the right moment = lifesaver.

How do i get a map on Xbox. I lost every thing Yesterday running around like an idiot in 2 ourhs and had to kill my self to spawn Home . How do i find Home from another world When i make a new spawn in bed.
@Sailor-X-Topher7 ай бұрын
Hi Brian! We play with n PC but we do use Xbox controllers, and on PC the back button opens the map on controller. Unfortunately if you slept in a new bed, your old bed icon won’t show on the map. You can add markers on the map for things like bases, since you will likely have several small outposts all around the map.

Modded Valheim can be a lot of fun, although there is now a different kind of portal later in the game which allows teleport of metals
@Adrena1in3 ай бұрын
You don’t need a mod for that. World Settings let you allow transportation of anything through regular portals.
