Very nice. I can confirm that the Outline Text, Even Borders, Extra Brightness and Contrast, Bilateral Blur, Multiple Layer Effects (with an attached keyboard) all work on an iPad Pro 11. I was particularly surprised to be able to copy multiple layer effects and paste them into a completely different document. That was a great tip. I also loved adding the extra border dimensions using the + sign. I learn something new from all of your videos. Thanks Scott.

Thank you very much Enrique. I have no idea how the video ended up in a small window. I should have noticed before the upload. I just re-rendered it with Davinci Resolve and uploaded again.

Me too Ken. I have so many AP tutorials and the program will do so much that I can't remember everything. Also try to learn and keep up with Luminar and a few others but it is daunting for sure. Thankfully I do keep the links in folders related to each topic but ones like Tips will mean going over them again and using drag/drop of the link opened to other folders which is a tad tedious. Unfortunately a program that used to be great was Copy Url but it is no longer available. Not even sure if it ever worked with W10. Then a good Wordpad document would be nice for these techniques but that is just a lot of work. Could not keep up with the new tutorials either.

Scott, I really enjoy your tutorials, they're really helpful. The one bit of information that I miss know is when to choose Affinity or Capture One for a specific task. Obviously there are scenarios were only Affinity can be used, but for example, to sharpen a raw picture, or bring out structure and colour in a models eyes. Both can be used, but which one do I use and when. A video covering which of the 2 programs to use for scenarios where their abilities overlap would be of massive interest.

Thanks for the comment Ollie. I think this is a really good idea. I think many people don't understand the benefits of these types of programs and how they compliment each other.

Nice sharing 'light brother!' SInce I've been pro for 30+ years, makes me nervous working in different editing programs, but Affinity makes the conversion painless but MOSTLY YOU brother Scott make it simple & fun with your empathy and professional knowledge. Thanks!

been retired after 33 years pro and actually glad I don't have to do it anymore in the digital age basically because there is so much to learn and because I would be wanting to create so many interesting results that I would not make any money.

At 19:09, Opacity Shortcuts, it would be very lovely, if you make a video how you edited the image you used for that. It looks fantastic 😍

Thank you Roland. It is a simple HDR exposure. 3 shot bracket - 2 stops apart. Then merged with Affinity. Local contrast ind the tone mapping persona. Then a couple of colour adjustments. I will make a tutorial on HDR with affinity photo.

Scott Williams Photography Thanks for the hints. Already thought it’s multiple exposure. But asked to ensure. And please take my “a priori” thanks for the HDR tutorial announced 🙌

Great tips Scott, I really like the Luminar plugin tip. I tried adding Luminar 2018 but it won't load correctly. I'll let you know if I can get it to work. Cheers again Scott, keep the good work going

Thank you Geoffery. I've only tested with Luminar 3 and Aurora HDR 2019 which also works. Luminar and Aurora make great plugins for Affinity Photo.

Great, very informative tips! Thank you. What settings would you suggest to export an edited photo so that when I upload it to Facebook, the sharpness is maintained. Currently, when I upload a nice, clear image on Facebook, it looks quite blurry. Any help is appreciated!
@ScottWilliamsPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. I suggest checking the Facebook help for optimal image sizes and make sure you have sharpened the images at the size you will be using.

Hi. I'm a portrait artist and need help as to how to overlay photos for purpose of correcting the drawing of, and placement of facial features in a portrait painting. In this instance I'm working from a photo of my subject, and can't work out where I'm going wrong with my drawing using the traditional methods. I've been told that there is a way to upload the original reference photo, and then a photo of the painting which I can then adjust to make it the same size as the reference photo. Then I'm supposed to be able to make the photo of either the painting or the reference photo transparent and then overlay the two for comparison. I've never used more than the basic photo software that came with my Imac, and haven't a clue what to do. I've downloaded the free trial of Affinity, but before I commit to the full purchase I need to know how to to do the overlays. Can you please help me? thanks
@ScottWilliamsPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Load the original file. Then use the "place" command from the "file" menu to to place the second image into another layer. Resize using the handles at the edges. Then set the opacity of the layer. From you description of requirements it would seem to me that Affinity Photo would be the perfect tool for you.

Im using Affinity Photo on a MAC I also have Luminar 3 on the MAC Does the Luminar 3 plugin work for version 1.7.2 on the MAC? If so where is the plugin location?
@ScottWilliamsPhotography5 жыл бұрын
I am using PC and I have no way of testing for MAC.
@cdnredneck8005 жыл бұрын
Stuart Sykes luminar 3 or Flex just freeze at starting plugin, not working
@ScottWilliamsPhotography5 жыл бұрын
Are you on MAC? I've just tested Flex. Both Flex and Luminar 3 work fine here on PC. Also are you using the latest version of Affinity Photo 1.7.2?
@cdnredneck8005 жыл бұрын
Scott Williams Photography I was surprised to see you loading an image on Luminar from AP and get it to work, so I went back to try it on MAC, latest AP, Luminar3 and Flex. Starting plugin is what you can see on a small popup window and thats it, need force quit and restart AP.
