Justice was finally served, in front of a national t.v. audience :) Favorite quote: "...he probably never imagined the tenacity of the plaintiff in this case, some very clever investigative work."

I couldn't get the police to take my evidence seriously. They considered it a civil matter, and said my only recourse was small-claims court. So I filed a claim locally, and the tv show must have found my claim via a public-records search. I got an invitation to appear, via mail, out of the blue so I called the producer immediately :)

The defendant must have been drinking the night he plowed through the plaintiff's fence and left the scene so he wouldn't get a DWI. The defendant is too old to be living with mommy and daddy, time to kick him out of the next and make him fend for himself. Great detective work and determination on the plaintiff's part.

When I went down to L.A. to tape this episode I tried to get some friends in to sit in the audience for the taping. They made them sit in the back row because all of the audience are paid "actors"...they're somewhat coached as to how to respond/dress/etc. The episodes are taped in 1 or 2 week sprints where they do a number of "cases" back to back all day and then take a month off. So the audience just sits there all day and would therefore show up in multiple episodes.
