8 oz. for $60? Actually not a bad price. Some people pay $12 for beer at a ball game.

lol, exactly! Yea it lasts a LONG time, needless to say. I still have plenty and it's one of the first products I bought in 2019. It might go bad by date before usage.

man youll spend $20 for Lowes best stuff thats good for ONE application and not even as good. Tenacity will last a few seasons if your lawn is an average size. As he said, it can be used for post and pre emergent. It is WELL worth the price.

I want to post this here, as I am getting frequent questions on applying Tenacity after seeding. The following comes directly from the Tenacity label. When in doubt, check the product label. New Seedings/New Lawn Establishment - Apply Tenacity at 5-8 fl. oz. per acre in at least 30 gallons of water per acre prior to seeding or post seeding of tolerant turfgrass species listed on this label, except fine fescue. Tenacity may reduce density of fine fescue seedings. Tenacity can be used on grass seed blends that contain less than 20% by weight of hard or fine fescue. Tenacity will control many monocot and dicot weeds that compete with and slow the establishment of the turfgrass stands. Apply at grass seeding or close to seeding for best performance. Avoid spraying on newly germinated turfgrass plants. Wait until the newly germinated turf has been mowed two times or four weeks after emergence (whichever is longer) before making a postemergence application. Postemergence Application - Apply Tenacity at 4-8 fl. oz. per acre in at least 30 gallons of water per acre. Apply with a NIS type surfactant. A repeat application at two to three weeks may be required for adequate weed control. Weed control is most effective on young, actively growing weeds. Efficacy will be reduced under moisture stress or from applications to mature weeds.

Tenacity is a good tool to have in your lawncare program toolbox. Shouldn’t be used as your only tool for managing weeds (and other undesirables) but in this particular situation, it is well suited.

So that was last year , how did it go and how do things look ? I just sprayed my lawn that has crabgrass and spruge with the Tenacity / Speedzone 2 days ago and am anxiously waiting . I did see the next day several other odd ball weeds dying.

it absolutely destroyed my grabgrass and quackgrass. Grabgrass is super stubborn so you need to coat it heavy even with surfactant, and you will need 2 applications if crabgrass has grown to a decent size

Another good point is how many YEARS that 8 ounces will last. I'm figuring my bottle will last three years total. Not a bad deal.

I live in the NW Pacific- cool season grass. I am going to reseed my lawn this fall and planning to use Tenacity as pre emergent , should I reapply in spring? I am fighting poa grass.
@MrFergusonLawn

Totally up to u. I typically only use it at seeding. However be aware it can harm any find fescues you sow.

When can I reapply a Tenacity / Speedzone dose ? Would a good dose in the spring, mid summer , and fall be good to keep things in check and stay ahead of the weed game ? I don't' like to have to look at a dumpster fire that's why I took things into my own hands this summer and found these videos . It just seemed that the local lawn spraying companies were just not preforming well for the money .
@MrFergusonLawn
@MrFergusonLawn 2 жыл бұрын
Be careful spraying in Summer. When lawn is stressed it can harm the good grass. Be sure and use pre emergent in early Spring, and spot spray Speedzone when necessary after pre emergent runs out, around June. Just don’t over do it and hurt the good grass. Keep in mind the summer weeds will die off on their own when the cooler temps push in.

Do you think I can still put it down when I seeded two weeks ago? I have it on hand but was worried about it holding back my new GCI TTTF.
@MrFergusonLawn
@MrFergusonLawn 3 жыл бұрын
What I've read online is that if your seed hasn't germinated, you are fine to apply Tenacity. If your seed HAS germinated, you need to wait 28 days or 4 mows before applying per the label. Do with that what you wish.

To be honest, I’m not 100% sure, but I’d have to guess it won’t harm it. I’d Google it or read the label though to be sure. Good question.

I don’t see why not. I may do the same as a test to see if it will be a way to keep out poa annua. I hate the grass will be discolored, but I know this is what Mr.Kevin my neighbor is doing as well. CORRECTION: per the label, 28 days or 4 mows. You can only apply when there has been no germination. If you have germination, wait 28 days
@seanrice7511

Doesn’t the label say 28 days or 2 cuts after germination?
@MrFergusonLawn
@MrFergusonLawn 3 жыл бұрын
@@seanrice7511 Yes! Thanks Sean for pointing this out. I saved a comment the other day after another question like this and I looked up the label. 28 days or 4 mows of the new lawn. I apologize. It’s difficult at times to find who I need to correct myself with. My apologies. That comment should be pinned on this video near the top. Also know that fine fescues don’t like Tenacity much either. Something I had forgotten myself.

Very "new" product? I've been using it for at least 10 years. Maybe "new" to latecomer KZbinrs. Also says "I've never seen weeds come up" when using Tenacity, and immediately shows a picture with multiple weeds coming up in his new grass lol (6:22). Look, not trying to say don't make these videos, but at least do some fact checking and pay attention to what you post. Otherwise, expect comments like this calling you out, and people SHOULD call you out for misinfo.
