This tenant was pushing it, having been asked to do this plate which was a bit of a pain itself, the tenant then started trying to get me to look at other things.

I went to a service visit the other day and the guy had saved up a year’s worth of issues for me to fix while I was there, he had an A4 page with a huge list of problems that he ticked off as he watched me fix each one, I was ready to walk out of his house after 15 minutes, I wonder if customers would like me to come to their workplace and watch them for a couple of hours and ask them a new question every second minute 😂😂😂😂

What I hate the most though, is watchers that pretend they are not watching but you know they are, I can understand that some customers have probably been ripped off in the past and now feel that they need to pay close attention to what the engineer is doing but sometimes it’s just to much, if anyone wants to become a gas engineer, please make sure you have a really thick skin and lots and lots of patience, hope you are doing well mate and you’re winter blues are fading away, keep the awesome videos coming, and tell that bloke from central heatking he’s doing an awesome job aswell, cheers 🙏👍🙏👍🙏

Had that happen to me with the bottom right connection on the plate! It held for a couple of hours until someone had a shower and it popped off.. panicky phone call from the customer that one 😂

I walked out of a service when the customer tried to convince me her boiler operated her washing machine and she didn’t understand why I needed to see the gas meter and questioned everything I did all while telling me he other company didn’t do any of the checks I was doing.

Here’s a crazy idea, use a bucket to drain down. Helps you carry things in and out and has less chance of spilling and no chance of pinning.

That made me laugh, the customer having no patience. This always happens to me. As soon as you turn up to the job the customers asks "what's the problem then," yet you have on just set your eyes on the appliance. So frustrating or the customers who direct you to the job and it happens to be in a tiny cupboard that they are blocking, explaining what they think it could be yet obviously having no clue 😤

@@cputilitysolutions yep, even when it’s the landlord that pays for everything it still becomes a major issue for the gas engineer, we then become responsible for the final decision making, that then becomes a dispute between us and them

Landlords are the cheapest lazy arse bastards of them all, they don’t want to spend a single penny of their tenancy agreement and therefore disagree with any decision made by anyone else other than their own and will most likely make the biggest wrong decision of their life and will inevitably put someone else’s life in danger

I had one, the mothers son, and his wife rang me, text me, hounded me for a toilet call back as the handle/flush was a bit stiff. They said she couldn't use it, suggested she had to go in a bucket (she had a downstairs one which worked). Told me not to bother after I rang back (1 hour it took for me to call them), said they'll fix. Got a call two days later asking for me to come round and fix it (all they did was swap the handle over), so I went, greased it and was loose enough for her to happily use it. Some people think we're NPCs and sit at home waiting for their call 😂. Good video man keep it up! Always enjoy them 👍🏻

Other week, callback, left integral timer on timed on a titanium, rang me up no no no it's not working right you come back now and fix! I explained my mistake, I should've left as original setting so OK my bad. Turned up end of day, he knew what I'd done, I'd explained it and he knew. But wanted me to come anyway to see "how he runs it". He has a titanium 40 combi, he has a switch in series with integral timer, to switch heating on or off. As the integral timer was too complicated to slide from O to I, but even then the literal light switch of heating on or off was too complicated, so he turns it off at the boiler switch. If they want hot water, they turn it on, if they don't want heating they turn it off. I just looked at him whilst he's explaining this to me as it I'm an idiot, and I'm like.. Damn. Meanwhile his son had fit all new rads in the house, all where 15mm flex to 1/2" attached to each rad valve, he showed them off to me.. Give us strength!

Always have a quick operation check on a boiler before i service/ gas checks. Had it before where there was a fault and then its a can of worms and you get blamed. Some Tenants are proper assholes.
