I played the game when I was in elementary school. I remember that somehow I was angry because of Tatsumaru's betrayal after his memory back. The game had moved me, got my passion of learning english out, and bloomed my interest in japanese culture.

Despite some flaws, that could make an ennemy see you behind himself and ruin a 30 minutes attempt of highest grade victory, that game really had a strong personnality. 20 years later, I still remember the japanese medieval atmosphere, many levels, some ennemies (like the wite tiger, with Ayame) and the sadness and cruelty of the scenario, especially the destiny of Tatsumaru. That's in my top ten, maybe top 5 of the games I played on PS1 (FF7, MGS and Crash Bandicoot is my top 3)

Tatsumaru's story could have been longer if his first stage was... A Pirate Crew. Boss fight: Captain Sokumi, armed with a rifle. And then A Shadow could be his second stage.

The game can be long, dull, and repetitive especially without music, albeit better controls. Ever thought of making shorts of your play? Like the funny moment 1:03:50 where tatsumaru slaps the old man around, think about it. Anyways thanks for the walkthrough.

Modern games is all about bam bam bam action action action. In the old days. Stealth where it’s at. Slow and steady wins
