Tenere 700 | First Adventure Ride | Blue Rag Range Track

Day 2 of our two day Victorian High Country adventure ride. This was my second day of adventure riding on my Tenere 700. In this video we head to Blue Rag Range Track from Dargo before I crash and have to divert to the Myrtleford for some assistance.

That was pretty cool! Some solid hills down there, and stunning views. Nice drone footage too 😎👍 But OUCH! Hope it healed up quick, looked panful .

Bad luck on the crash - best laid plans eh.... The STR's are not the best on gravel especially compared with the Scorpion Rally or even the TKC80. Personally as below prefer ABS on with the T7 except for the really sketchy downhills.

Yea, I’ll be going to a more off road bias tyre now that they are worn out. To be honest, for the most part, the stock tyres were surprisingly capable.

Faaark I didn't expect that crash at all. Looked pretty intense with how much blood was coming out of your arm, you certainly handled it like a champ. Awesome video man. Would love to ride that area with you one day.

Always have a descent first aid kit readily accessible on your bike...never use water sucked out of a camelbak lots of nasty flora in the mouth. I carry saline packs that you break off the ends to wash out along with butterfly sutures for nasty cuts like that..I also carry super glue for the most extreme case where I just need to seal it up to be able to get to hospital..Hope your ok it was a real pisser your sleeve rolled up and exposed that arm..healing vibes 🙏

What gear were you wearing at the time? Did your jacket roll up and expose your skin?

I was wearing a Dri-Rider jacket. The Velcro wrist strap was loose, resulting in the sleeve sliding up arm. Lesson learnt.

Nice vid buddy the drone footage ads another dimension. The blood squirt is a bit graphic need a good paramedic??? How do u rate the T7 to the 690?

Thanks mate. Unfortunately there were no good ones around. Loving the T7. Definitely learning you have to be aware of the unexpected though. Sharp edges, rocks and washouts are a lot harsher on the bigger bike.

One question guys, and I completely understand the need for first aid but why didn't you get the T7 up and off the road upon arrival?

In terms of being a hazard to on coming vehicles? Good point mate, not something I thought about at the time. Given the rural nature, I would like to think that we would of been well aware of any traffic coming through and responded appropriately. Something to think about though.

Yea, at least after the first corner when I experience the “oh sh*t” moment after forgetting to turn it off haha.

Works better in nearly all situations to leave the ABS on.

@@adamhoward1947 I tend to agree, although i'd like the rear only turned off when off-road... But many motox guys prefer it all off...They have better modulation most of the time...

Sorry. I sent this before watching the whole vid. :) Bummer how your jacket slid up. If it didnt you would've been fine to continue. One of my other jackets has a loop you put your thumb through to hold it down. Pretty sure my RevIt doesnt but will go check now after seeing this

The jacket does have a velcro strap around the wrist which was loose at the time. I’ll certainly be more conscious of it in the future.

Couldn’t find the culprit, even after a good look around. I suspect it may have been a rock and it’s bounced off the track. Only speculating though.

@@nextstopadv Yeah, I couldn't see anything that could have brought you down either. Any chance it might have been something to do with the ABS?

@@dropbear9526 potentially. I wasn’t breaking, it didn’t feel like a lockup and I didn’t have any issues before or after with the breaks. I am scratching my head though and will keep an eye on it. Thanks mate
