I just did a 2400 mi trip starting south of Buffalo going into Canada to the Bruce peninsula ferrying to the North shore of lake Huron cutting back into the us at Sioux Saint Marie then followed the south shore of lake Superior to Duluth follow the Mississippi South until I got far enough South under Chicago then work my way back east and I'll back roads... 10-day trip ... With all that being said I found highway speeds not a problem on the t7... The mpd that made this work ... Was putting on a 16 tooth sprocket ... I went through Ohio mostly on highway 30 which is mostly a four-lane head to stay between 75 and 80 Cruise.. Sometimes I wicked her up over 100 to get around traffic so I could ride in my own bubble ... That was a long backstory to say the t700 is very capable of high-speed long-distance travel ... I'm not saying it's a goldwing ... However it is very doable ... Background on me is ... 71 years old... Approximately 5'8" 190 lb

Great honest video, thank you for sharing. That CP2 engine is proven, reliable, bulletproof. Smooth trackable power.

I really hope to get a chance to ride again in the future much more than this little run. I want one.

Pol Tarrés set a world record on the T7, riding up Cerro Mercedario in the Andes mountains to 20,201.7 feet altitude, highest ever on a twin-cylinder motorcycle under its own power, with only one fuel remapping for altitude. He had to wear an oxygen to breath up there, but the CP2 ran great, even destroyed a rear tire chewing its way to the top.

Agreed. It definitely harkens back to the dirt bike influence. There isn’t much to dislike about this bike overall.

Thanks for this reviews I bet it a hard in between battle between deciding on the T7 or a Honda Africa, twin I’m bleeding a little bit more towards Honda Africa to right now of course if I had the money at buy both keep both for three years and then figure out whether I want to keep one of the other.
@BeGoneForGoodАй бұрын
For sure. The best answer is always both but that’s tough for most of us. I hope you made the right choice but ultimately either option will provide plenty of fun.

@@BeGoneForGood hey I bought a Honda Africa twin it’s great for flying down the highway or climbing a mountain here in California or the surrounding states I have 3000 miles on it already

I bought the 2022 World Raid and sort of regret it now as its a baby GS (I also own a 2021 GSA), the extra fuel capacity is not required as for the off road and you have company you ride to the others fuel capacity.

There is always time to go in another direction but the T7 is exactly the sort of bike that will create a lot of regrets in those that went other routes. It is hard to say no to that one.

I suppose everyone differs I met a guy a couple of weeks back on a small back lane on a t7,he told me he got rid of his gs1250 for the t7 and doesn't know himself he just loves the t7 he said he can't understand how he lugged the big bmw around for yrs,but he like most bikers stays off the big highways so loosing the big comfort of the gs doesn't bother him.

Have you considered the Honda CB500X? (This never gets old)

At some point I will have to go back and figure out how many times this joke has come up from you and keep a running tab. Like one of those “Days without a safety violation” signs.

Agree 100%. T7 is super good bike. But then Aprillia looked at T7 for 2 years and then fixed all what was wrong with it. And introduced toureg 660. And it is far more superior in any sence. Sorry, but thats true.

Yea I test rode the Aprilia and agree…then went and bought a T7 😉

Superior is a strong word, no dealers for many many km's for me around here, yet there is a Yamaha dealer down the road.hmmmm. As well, the CP2 engine itself is hard to compare as its been around and is proven. Yes the Aprillia is sweet as, impressive, beautiiful, quality, all that without a doubt, but superior......yes superior to a KLX650 DR650, Vstrom650, and the list could go on a bit, but I think its a little stretch to go there with the T7. I mean we sat around waiting for the T7 concept to arrive, and it did finally, and now the competition begins. I am interested moreso in the newDE800......as there is also a dealer down the road.....

@@greyfisher3897 I quess down side for T7, at least for me, is lack of anti slip and other electronic support systems. Like Aprillia and Ktm. Of course we can say we are excellent riders and dont need them. But thats not true.

All I want to add, is that the colours in the video are awful.
