Movies not only have to be good but people need to feel an emotional connection with the characters. There was no such thing in Tenet. Nolan managed to greatly achieve that with Inception and Interstellar but failed to do so with Tenet.

The greatest stories that have been passed down to this day weren't confusing, they're easy to understand and contained a lot of depth and meaning.

The week before this came out, my local cinema had the 10th anniversary re-release of Inception. This movie made me feel 15 again! (I was 15 when I saw Inception in theaters with my dad and uncle). Ironically, the main criticism people had of the movie ("It's intentionally too complicated") is deliberately engaged with and rendered mute by the movie itself. Kinda like when Alien: Covenant haters concluded inexplicably (and contrary to the evidence presented in the movies) that David created the Xenomorphs from the 1979 film.
