Tenkara Fly Fishing Thoughts and Ideas

In this video I try to share some of my thoughts and ideas about Tenkara Fly Fishing.
Basically, Tenkara fly fishing originated in the mountains of Japan over 400 years ago. It was created by local fishermen to catch the fish in the local streams.
It is now sweeping the U.S.,where it is rapidly gaining in popularity .
I was immediately interested the Tenkara Method from the instant I first learned of it.
I am a fisherman with over 56 years of fishing experience. More than 40 years fly fishing. To me it is the best way to fish.
In this video I discuss Tenkara style fly fishing and offer solutions that I hope will make your fishing experience more enjoyable.

Fishing tenkara with extremely overweight lines... interesting. You seem to have missed a major advantage of the method, fishing light lines that allow you to keep all the line off of the water and minimize drift. Mono level line is pretty much the standard for a reason, and it's super cheap.

When you live in the high country, where it's almost always windy, wimpy mono lines do not get the job done. Mono line is no way to cast dry flies on even slightly windy days. I've watched videos of guys using level mono line, but they were fishing on days with little to no wind. My lines are made from level fly line, and are mostly intended for use in the Sierras where it's almost always windy. Your mono lines would just piss me off due to the difficulties presented by trying to fly cast into a 40 mph wind.
