Our second renaissance festival post-plague was the Tennessee Renaissance Festival, our new home-state festival! And it was… busy. It was a lovely day with friends and family but it was also a lot after a long quarantine period away from large crowds. Follow us on this journey, featuring Dossier!

My group and I didn't bother touring the castle last year (I think mainly the outside grounds were only open last year anyways, not the inside due to covid.) The castle IS really cool though! And worth seeing and touring at least once! Especially once you learn about how the couple that owns it have built it all from the ground up and such. I agree though the line is long and the bus ride, while short, isn't the most pleasant. The grounds are cool though! It's quite spacious and plenty of areas to take photos and is far more open vs the wooded area of the main part of the festival! For sure a must see if y'all go next year! Huzzah!

it sounds like you left pretty early in the day, it goes to 6 and I recommend coming later in the day if you are looking for less crowds and they have a fun pub sing at the very end! the line to the castle is always crazy crowded but once you get to the castle its fine. personally waiting in line for the castle is not worth it to me so I stopped doing it

I was hoping I could have made it to the TN ren fest but I was at a cabin trip with friends from Kentucky about 3 hours away in Pigeon Forge. :(
