This is so true. I’ve had experience with this, as someone who really loves the style, I’ve reached out to people, asking how to get into reenacting or if they know any good suggestions for someone starting out, and I was met with absolute rudeness. the Spanish city Zaragoza is the windiest city I've ever been to! But otherwise they are exactly the same, the fabric the same, the seams the same. My bear also has the fur matting and his nose stitches rubbed away.
