This is high praise from Mike Martz. Love this player and he could not be in a better spot. He has time to heal and build his confidence. Between Jared Goff, Mark Brunell and Teddy B he could not have a better QB room to mentor him not to mention Ben Johnson. He will have to come in next season when Goff gets shaken up or injured and I expect him to go out on the field and be great like he has continually done through college. #OnePride

Well, he ended up in the right place! He won't be expected to start this season and he's got a great QB coach, in Mark Brunell, to learn from over the next year, maybe 2. There's really no telling what his future is after that. He could be their eventual replacement for Goff. Or he could be traded for much more draft capital than he cost! Either way, it was a great pick!

LOVE the in-depth analysis that was given BEFORE the pick was in. Now that we know he's a #DetroitLion, we can see that he's pretty much exactly the kind of QB that we want to take over this offense: A QUALITY (& potentially elite) pass-first, pocket QB who's super-accurate and also has a more complete skill set in the mobility dept than our current starter.

Hooker is EASILY top 3 QB in this draft but don’t get the respect he deserves! Folks think Heupels offense is a gimmick but Hooker is very talented. I don’t watch the nfl but I HOPE he gets his shot!! Far far far better than Levis or Richardson for sure!

THE best qb in the leauge! Hooker is him you can critisize all you want but until you really watch every play hes had you wont know his greatness and he did it with a harder schedule than any of the other top qbs..if tn had a defense they would of one a natty

Cj and Bryce are better and both didn’t play in a gimmick space and pace offense where the qb only has to read half the field and rarely has more than one read, and an offense designed to run plays Uber fast before the defense has time to get set up. Watch those three play a nfl caliber defense that’s coached very well in Georgia and see who did the worst and that would be Hooker. Hooker can be a good quarterback in the NFL ( ideal size, athletic, great arm) but he’s got possibly the biggest learning curve for the pro game out of all the qb’s in the draft.

@@bkells1296 if you notice I said well coached, Bama had the most talented roster in college football and lost to LSU, Tennessee, and damn near lost to A&M, Ole Miss, and Texas. Talent means nothing if it’s not coached properly. For context, Pitt gave up a good amount of points but also played Tennessee fairly well, just didn’t have enough NFL level talent to do what Georgia has done the past two seasons to Hooker

Well, Hendon Hooker has had a year recovering and being prepared with the Lions. Not much has been said except by Alim McNeil who called his arm "silky smooth, man" with one of those all-knowing shit eatin grins. I thought the guy was fantastic in college and had a ton of NFL potential. I now imagine him slingin it over the top to Jamo someday soon, Goff contract or not

I think Hendon to the Vikings is a smoke screen, but I hope it is true because I think he is the most accurate QB in the 2023 draft. He probably doesn't go to his 3rd option much because sometimes the receivers on one side of the field aren't running routes, they are half jogging.

Love Hendon. The most accurate is Bryce. Highest floor since Andrew Luck. A locked in 10+ year starter if no serious injuries. The precision, the playmaking, the demeanor. It's all there.

@@fantasypolice Of QB's in the 2023 Draft Hooker was tied with Dorian Thompson-Robinson for Completion percentage. Six other QB's drafted in 2023 had a higher completion percentage than Young. Bryce Young was 37th in division 1 completion percentage.

@@kft590 Without checking, I'm sure Baker Mayfield's comp pct was similar. System heavily influences those numbers. Hendon is accurate from a clean pocket, so is CJ Stroud. From off platform on the move, under pressure, to different levels of the field, leading his receivers in perfect stride, Bryce is consistently #1 amongst professional scouts. I'm talking real, challenging football they will face soon. Highlights and stats paint the wrong picture. NFL front offices observe practices and then sit on the 50 yard line, for every game. I'm based in LA so saying DTR is more accurate because of comp pct is laughable. No games were watched. Dude is erratic, just gets in the zone with his short to intermediate passes. Again, love Hooker, and he'll pair amazingly with Jameson Williams, which is why I'm breaking down the tape. In the NFL, Bryce will demonstrate his elite accuracy under any situation. Please remember you heard this from a cat. =)

If Hooker can learn to read an NFL field and process quickly which is the biggest question he has, he could be a top 10 QB in the NFL.

Jarred Goff is a decent QB he is an arguably a top 15 QB in the league maybe top ten last year! With that said he isn't going to win you big games. He will not get the Lions over the hump. With that said, Hooker has way more upside because he is a dual threat. If he can run the offense as well as Goff after Goff's contract is up then I'd let Goff go. Having a good QB on the cheap will let you build a deep team. If HH is almost as good from the start, I would trade Goff!

I disagree his head is up to much in the PA he has learn to sell the action. Especially in a BJ offense. He can throw all the angles his eyes track very well. I want to see him continue developing

"Experts" have been projecting Hooker as a 2nd or 3rd day pick? I don't care he's 25 with a prior torn acl Titans should draft him. His 70% completion, 27tds/ 2ints many being on point bombs is unheard-of. I'm not knocking Richardsons insane rocket arm, 4.4 speed and 6'4" 245lbs frame however his pass completion was closer to 53%. We need the best Qb not the best athlete.

You're mostly right however there's always exceptions. Just in the last decade or so off the dome: Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow Dak Prescott, Matt Ryan are examples of doing good as rookies then getting better oh Big Ben and Russell Wilson even Mac Jones had a solid rookie year. Of course Marino had huge rookie year back in the day. Others showed out as rookies, Robert Griffin and Baker Mayfield but injury or life obstacles got'em. But to your point many more never transfer that NCAA talent & success to the NFL.
