This is my Question every year. If Alcoa or Maryville wants National recognition they will have to play teams from other states that are also powerhouses. IMG Academy just played Ravenwood. Hell why can’t Maryville play Brentwood Academy if they are nervous about playing talented teams from South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama or Mississippi. If you have so many Titles but never play top teams from other states it brings up questions on how good you really are. Guess it would expose them for being a good team in a weak state of HS football. I would love to see IMG destroy Maryville or Alcoa like they do teams every week. Grow some Balls guys and start playing like the “Champs” you think you are.

Lmao the fact that Brentwood academy is #4 on this list is absurd. They consistently play good teams from all over country and have won 4 state titles in a row. Maryville never travels out of state or plays anyone. They lost to a 3A school for gods sakes. Ensworth hasn’t even been good since 2014 either. These rankings are all jacked up especially having Webb at #5 and BA at 4

@@troywilson9885 right. I played at white house from 2004-2008, the years we had trox greenwade, the payne twins, rodger gaines and ricky ladd. We played alcoa in 2007 when randall cobb was the QB..we lost 41-6, he rushed 6 times for 110 yards. Anyway what this dude doesnt know or understand is that yes alcoa is a 3a school(was 2a when i played) but, over 30% of the boys at the school play football. And alcoa and maryville are arch rivals and literally 10 minutes apart, and about 30 minutes south of knoxville. So they basically fight over the same talent pool every year. And since maryville is a 6A school, you can be a sophomore thats as good as a senior and have to wait till your a jr/sr to play alot if you go to maryville or get significant playing time at alcoa. Either way the UT vols will be calling you one day.

Dude look my high school used to play Alcoa almost every single year and they would dominate us no matter how good of a team we had they would beat us by double digits Alcoa is only a 3a school because they don’t have a large student population
