Tennessee Titans Draft Rumors: Malik Nabers Visit, JC Latham over Joe Alt & Pass on Edge Rusher

The Tennessee Titans are transitioning from a focus on free agency to a focus on the NFL Draft and with that comes rumors about what the team might do. One thing the Titans could be considering is selecting LSU receiver Malik Nabers with their top pick. Nabers would be an excellent choice and had a private meeting with the Titans. Next, there are some whispers that JC Latham is a preferred offensive tackle for the Titans and while Latham does make some sense, it would be a major risk to take him at seven. Finally, some are discussing edge rusher for the Titans' top pick and Tyler thinks that is absurd.

I think a perfect and realistic draft scenario for the Titans (no trades) would be something like this: 1st Round, OT; 2nd Round, WR; 4th Round, EDGE; 5th Round, WR; 6th Round, S; 7th Round, EDGE (if possible); 7th Round, CB

The way Ran Carthon run the show and chooses his words carefully, I would not put any stock in most mock drafts. I think the Titans are willing to trade down if they can get an extra day 1st draft pick and could see Latham or even Bowers drafted in the 1st round and a LT in the 2nd round. I just expect one desperate team trying to move up at 7. We'll see haha

WR still a need, but not at 7. #7 would need to be a day 1 starter, are you going to play one of Hopkins/Ridley/#7 in the slot? LT is a gaping hole currently. Doing a live mock currently, top 3 QB/Harrison/Alt/Nabers off the board. Traded down to 12 with the Broncos to pick up that missing 3rd.

The only reason I would be okay with Latham is watching the clinic he put on against UGA in the playoffs. Completely shut down Georgia’s pass rush and was a huge reason why they sniffed out the W.

I get what you’re saying about Ridley and Hopkins age, but there is a difference in picking for a qb named burrow and a qb named Levis. I love what we’re building but how sold are you that Levis is THE guy? Build your line and you can still draft someone explosive in the second round. All in all, a trade back is what I’m hoping for.

Haven't watched the episode yet, but this comment struck me. I was against the Warmack pick, dude's feet were so slooooow. Change of direction was slow as well. Even at guard is was going to be an issue. I see a similar issue with Latham. The power is nice, but we need pass protection, and his ability to match edge defender's quickness just worries me.

Bro you are trippin about Alt! You need to watch some film. He is constantly getting turned sideways, takes bad angles, doesn't have great technique, and his anchor is average at best and alot of times off balance. He has had success because the competition hasn't been great, and he is way bigger and stronger than a lot of players he has went up against. He is another Andre Dillard waiting to happen. At this point Nabers is a can't miss bonafide superstar. I know we don't have a lot of capital but IDC I'm trading up if need be to get him.

Nabers is the #1 player on my board in this draft. Call me crazy but I believe he is better than MHJ and would take him if we had the #1 overall pick. And I’m a Vol fan. But Alt does make more sense for the immediate future and trading back with the vikings would be the best possible outcome(Latham + DL).

The WR room is going to need another weapon next year anyways after D-Hop leaves might as well have one season with D-Hop as the mentor.

But if Alt is there there's no way in hell I'd pick any other player or even consider trading back unless some general manager is just willing to throw everything to you for #7. Joe Alt is one of those type of players that could be a generational left tackle for 10+ years and never have to worry about that position for a long time. Think Trent Williams type player. Left tackles are probably the hardest to find and if you got a good one you don't let him go. They don't grow on trees and receivers can typically be found in free agency if need be. If Alt is there at 7 and we trade out or take a receiver then Carthon is a straight up moron. I wouldn't trade Alt for say #11 and #23 and a 3rd next year. He's just that type of player! AJ Browns can be found later in the draft. Especially this one.
