Tennessee Titans JC Latham is FRANCHISE TACKLE, DeAndre Hopkins is BACK & Titans Can Bounce Back NOW

The Tennessee Titans have had an ugly start to the 2024 season and sit at 0-3, but rookie left tackle JC Latham has been excellent overall in his first few weeks. Latham can't fix the offensive line himself, but he look like the answer at left tackle for the next decade. Next, the passing offense has been horrible as a unit, but the wide receivers, including DeAndre Hopkins, have been as advertised. Hopkins looked all the way back in Week 3 and that is crucial. The Titans have gotten lucky with how the rest of the AFC South has started and have a chance over the next few weeks to turn things around if they can manage it.

I know everyone is doom and gloom but Tyler said at the beginning of the season “this will take time” yes it sucks and as a fan of this franchise it’s painful to watch. Yeah, I think you’re right. Yesterday I was very much in a “fire everybody” mood but as I’ve cooled off a little I’ve realized that we actually have some really good things going for us. Enough so that I think this front office can take this crappy team and, next year, turn it into a playoff team. Especially with some high draft picks, even though it sucks to have to get those 😕

I think the biggest problem strategically is that Skoronski is having a terrible season so far. He gets outshined by just how awful the right tackle is, HOWEVER, if he were more solid like Latham you could atleast try to run left with more success, scheme plays that move Levis toward the left, put a running back or tight end on the right side to help, or whatever they can scheme up, but Skoronski also being a turnstyle so far has basically just meant Levis is getting attacked from all sides almost every snap. I'd be considering moving Radunze to the left guard spot. He has performed the best so far behind Latham. Atleast give them one side of the line they can play around, and supplement the other with extra players or scheming away from it. We don't have the personnel on roster for a full line.

I remain optimistic. Frustrated, yes, but I can SEE the potential. There is enough talent on the team to really make some noise (playoff birth), but so much inconsistency (defense primarily) and turnovers have really hamstrung the team so far. Missing a legit RT, but I feel there is enough talent on the Oline that just needs to develop and gel together. Levis has the arm talent and drive, but lacks the pocket awareness/movement and read/recognition to help avoid pressure and find the open man. Can Levis improve that? I dont know, but I hope he can. Levis has improved each week, despite the continued "bone headed" turnovers. Week 1 - Levis cost the game (turnovers, pick-6, missed open WRs) Week 2 - Team loss with lots of help AGAIN from Levis Week 3 - Defensive failure (primarily). Simmons cost a TD (holding on missed FG) and another pick-6 from Levis. Abysmal Oline play (secondary to defensive failure)

I’ve been following the Oilers / Titans since ‘72. I have worked in a corporate environment for over 35 years. I am not impressed with Bill Callahan at all. He seems very uninspiring to me and there is definitely something missing there. There is no chemistry and no fire. Now the defense has collapsed. Mason needs to start vs Miami. If not the team goes 0 - 4 and I’m not sure how much more evidence is needed that this new rendition is a fail if they go 0 - 4. Titan up!
