The Tennessee Titans look like they will be signing Tyler Boyd and the wide receiver immediately would become the third best receiver on the team and the full-time slot starter. Boyd fits perfectly within the Brian Callahan offense and we have already seen how that fit plays out on the field. Finally, this is another move that should have Treylon Burks on notice and regardless of the public comments, shows the team may not be as high on Burks as the fan base remains to be.

I would love this signing if it happens, injuries happen all the time and this would give us depth where if Hopkins or Ridley miss time, we would be just fine still. Also love to see Tvondre Sweat is working out to prove the haters wrong. Also heard Ran talking in the press conference saying he had 8-10 GMs text him that they were going to take him if they didn’t. Dunno guess time will tell. Titan up! O H!!!

Maybe signing Boyd will finally ignite a lil fire under Burks ass and he gets the point that either you sack up or take ur bs elsewhere. Burks needs to develop into that athletic big body WR that can block as well or hell be out the job after this yr if not sooner Half of me wants him to adapt and pull together the skill set he needs to survive in our new era BUT half of me wants him off the roster all together . Its a swift kick in the nuts hearing his name because of the whole AJ11 trade.. Either way this season is going to be so interesting to watch . Word from fans in Cincy is that Boyd has lost a step and struggled with man coverage. Also, Callahan didn't pick Boyd as a physical slot WR he likes. Boyd was already there when Callahan became the OC. Boyd is not a guy who can stretch the field form the slot at all. His PFF grade was only 59 last year. NWI was 62. I'm really puzzled by the comment Callahan wanted someone to "emerge" and that no one has done that yet in the slot. The team really hasn't done anything for someone to emerge yet on the practice field. With that said right now we have nobody as a backup WR on the outside except for Burks. We drafted a small slot WR Unless they really think Dowell is ready NWI is the only othe guy. If Boyd is a "slot only" that makes his value even less.

Tyler Boyd was a 2nd round pick by the Bengals in 2016. He WAS not taken to be a slot WR. He became a slot WR and has success there. Also, the assumption is Callahan wants a PHYSICAL slot WR is questionable. Boyd was a failure at outside WR because he WAS not explosive enough. He ran a 4.68 40 to begin with. He became a solid slot WR. He wasn't valuable enough for the Bengals to keep. In reality Boyd isn't really an upgrade to NWI. The analysis that Boyd is some quick, fast, explosive guy is insane. Not that I'm against Boyd but spend the money on a S. and DE. The love affair with Boyd (which is perfectly wrong) and the hate for NWI is interesting. Sjot WR in Callhan's offense is like a a TE? Where the heck did that come from? NWI by the way is one of the best blocking WRs. And then say we would have taken McConkey or Pearsall (yea, those are really physical slot guys). Since Boyd is ONLY a slot not sure how that threatens Burks that much. We have to have depth at outside WR. Only pinhead would think we can just jettison Burks and have literally no one to backup outside. One twist of an ankle by Ridley or Hopkins and NWI is back as a starter and we do not have Chris Moore. This analysis is horrible. We need Burks as a backup outside guy.

NOT SO FAST TYLER. I think that it is very possible that Treylon Burks can be a major contributor if he stays healthy. (that is the question) Tyler Boyd is not necessarily a plug and play. His performance has steadily declined. I believe this signing is an insurance policy that says _ We want Burks to be better than Boyd, but if he does not, we have a pretty decent slot receiver. I do not think they are ready to give up on Treylon yet. Still a big target with solid speed and excellent contested catch radius. If Burks gets hurt...he is done.. But Boyd is the insurance policy against that. Kyle Phillips is just a depth piece or a trade offering or just a cut. I do not see his value fit.......If the rookie ends up being a good return guy in the pre-season, Phillips is gone. He is as good as Phillips if he can return kicks.

The whole offseason is as a big win because, we are going to all in on will levis on his rookie contract and if it doesn’t work, we could get out of most contracts if not all this the boyd singing is a b+ at least we don’t have to rely on Burks or Jackson And it puts pressure on burks at least be decent . The new coach has an eye for talent at the wide receiver position.He’s spent a lot of time with some really good ones.If he doesn’t think he can play, he can’t play.But we already knew that.We’ve seen 2 years of lackluster play, and constantly injured.Team doenst have much depth at receiver.So it makes a ton of sense to go sigh a solid receiver you can rely on.Can’t do that with burks or Phillips.Time to admit the dudes a bust and it was an horrific decision to trade brown.The owner already told you told last year when she fired the dude who did it.

T Burks has 1 td reception the past 22 games. Burks has asthma. He's failed multiple conditioning tests, so he couldn't practice. But this wideout would be a great fit for the Titans as the #3 option. I trust him more than I do, Burks.
